Robby's going on a verra long vacation & near the end of his vacation he meets a woman & starts to fall in love with her. He meets her one night as he was out jogging on the beach in Petra & felt her staring (but she was doing so through a telescope; he caught her as she was looking down & then up his body. He then would see her every night until she mysteriously disappeared. (Not really but you'll have to read the book to find out why she left Greece.

Olivia Sotiris is in Greece visiting her Yia Yia (grandmother) she's on vacation from work where she helps the FBI capture criminals & after the last case she needed a break. Her Yia Yia is happy to see her but, she also been arranging dinners with single men for Olivia to meet (though she really doesn't want to meet them). One night Olivia couldn't sleep so she decided to make some tea & look out through the telescope when she noticed a man jogging at night & as she was looking at him he stopped, she knew then that he caught her looking at him especially when she came up to his family e & was looking back at her. But, before they could talk to each other Olivia's Yia Yia came out from her bedroom to see what Olivia was doing; Olivia apologized for waking her up but she said that she was a light sleeper.

The next night is when Robby & Olivia finally get to talk to each other; as the nights go by the get to know each other more & more. She confides in him one of the reasons she's here on vacation; she's being stalked by a murder who even though he's locked up in prison he keeps sending her a box of apples. One night (or in Olivia's case day) Olivia & her Yia Yia disappear; at 1st Robby was confused as to why they up & disappeared but, with Carlos' help found out.

& now you really have to read this book to find out why they disappeared. But, know this, this book has fight scenes, sex scenes, good vs bad plot, lots of good & bad vampires, New friends & old ones in here as well as Shanna's father Sean Whelan.

Robby is suffering from post-traumatic stress after being captured and tortured by the Malcontents. Although most of his physical wounds have healed he is so full of anger and vengeance that he has become a liability to himself and others. He refuses to talk to a shrink so he is forced by his boss, who is also his great-great-grandfather, to take 4 months off to heal physically and mentally before retuning back to work. He spends this time at one of Roman and Shanna's homes in Greece.

Olivia works for the FBI and is somehow being stalked by a serial killer that is in prison. Olivia is also taking some forced time off from work at her grandmothers house in Greece. She arrives 3 weeks before Robby is ready to return to New York. Both her and her grandmother have the ability to read peoples emotions and can tell when someone is lying. Neither one of them can read Robby. Although Olivia's attraction to Robby is immediate, not being able to read his emotions both thrill and frighten her.

This book was not as humorous as the prior books in the Love at Stake series however I still found myself giggling and grinning often. As always, the support characters are a treat and add immensely to the story. Carlos was a hoot. Personally, I loved all the "catty" comments! I also enjoy the way the vampires tease each other relentlessly.

The mystery/suspense part was a little dark with the serial killer. Kind of creepy actually. Not having Casmir as the main focus was a relief. I mean really, how many times can this Casmir guy continue to get away before the readers give up hope? The romance was on the back-burner for too much of the story. I would have enjoyed more Robby & Olivia time. Overall I enjoyed the book and absolutely LOVE this series.

Side note: I understand the author has no say in the cover however I feel I must point out that Robby is Scottish with reddish-brown hair and green eyes. Where did the ghostie zombie lookin guy on the cover come from? Yikes.

Robby quickly falls for her, and in her return to FBI work, she's wary of him, but they chat late at night.
This furthers the story of the hunt for the villainous vampires, whilst Robby learns love is better than revenge plus we meet two new, cool characters in Barker,who's name is apt, and JL . Funny, sweet and sexy, this is great and Olivia 's nan Eleni is a wonderful addition to these people.
