    Dian Hanson was born in Seattle, Washington, November 2, 1951. A hippie and high school drop out, she moved east at age 20, first to Oxford, Mississippi, then Allentown, Pennsylvania, finally settling in New York City in 1976 to work on the sex magazine Puritan. Over the next 25 years she edited magazines including Partner, Oui, Adult Cinema Review, Harvey, Hooker, Juggs and Leg Show. She founded the magazines Outlaw Biker, Hawgs, Big Butt, Bust Out and Tight. In 1993 Hanson became friends with Benedikt Taschen, and in 2001 she finally agreed to leave sex magazines and take over the Sexy Book division of TASCHEN Publishing. She currently lives in Los Angeles with her husband, the novelist Geoff Nicholson.

    For a woman who has accomplished so much in her life, this is a defining book for me to own in and for my She-Cave. This is a huge, heavy, coffee table--as well as bedside--book which covers a lot of ground and is filled with photos, interviews and lots of other useful information about the one and only Vanessa Del Rio. Upon reading this book, I realize just exactly how much I have in common with this fine, courageous woman!!! She makes no bones about who she is and I truly appreciate her candor, openness and spiritedness. And the corresponding DVD is also included, featuring a running interview with Viva Vanessa and footage from her illustrious career and even pieces of her life today. She may be older, but she is, to me. likely even bolder than ever, more beautiful, vivaciously voluptuous and sexy as ever!!!!! Ever since I opened up this Christmas present in 2013, I have treasured this book immensely and will pick it up to read with regularity. Vanessa never grows old nor tired to me. I have always wanted a copy of this book and now, I finally have it!!!! Thank you, Vanessa, for this--and just for you being you!!!!!

    First let me begin by saying this book is X Rated and should be kept out of the reach of minors. This lavishly produced book is an in-depth look into the life of Vanessa Del Rio, one of the true icons of adult entertainment. Hundreds of large sized color and b/w photographs follow her career from start to semi retirement. In her own words she tells you of the crazy, exploitive, unglamorous, dangerous, drug filled, abusive, sexual morals world of a pornographic performer. And quite a tale it is. Sometimes seedy and trashy, other times downright hilarious.
    This is a big, heavy book with heavyweight glossy pages. Definitely a deluxe quality product. So for afficianados of 1970's erotica, this will be a prized addition to your collection. I certainly enjoy my copy.
    FYI: This book was printed in a limited number, so prices may vary by $5 or $10, but I think you'll find it to be worth its price. Happy reading ! (and looking)

    I have been a fan of Vanessa's since I was 18! This book is so relevant to the time and era that she began her journey. I relate to her feelings about "not doing it for the money, but because she enjoyed it"! Admitting to your appreciation for satisfication is such a freeing and liberating statement. I would recommend this book, not only for the photos, but moreso for Vanessa's story. She is still as vibrant and volumptuous as she was back in the 80's!     First of all the book looks beautiful...I mean it actually does. It's a big bodacious coffee table book (although you may want to put it away when company comes over). Vanessa Del Rio is a larger than life character and reading the details of her "slightly slutty" life was really interesting and "titiliating". The pictures in the book are really good quality, but be forewarned they are pictures of Vanessa doing what Vanessa does. If you're a fan or you like controversial books this one will fit the bill perfectly.

    I love Vanessa Del Rio's work! The book is very heavy but that's not a complaint. It's just not for bed reading, which is why i have not finished looking/reading it. It's more of a coffee table read. I'm glad i caught this price versus the original price. I believe she talks about ingesting anabolic steroids in the book; very fascinating. She looks GREAT as an older woman nowadays! I wonder if she has an autobiography out of normal size for bed reading =)
