I turned my second pair into my work boots and bought the third pair recently for my casual wear and hiking boots.
So far, they fit as expected and feel great on my feet.
they fit great, plenty of room to wiggle my toes, and i've already hiked in them a ton without a blister or sore spot.

I am so excited about this boot that I had to leave a review, even though I didn't buy it through Amazon. I have tried in vain for 20 years to find a hiking boot that doesn't give me blisters, even after years of break in. I have a very narrow and strangely-shaped heel and a wide toe bed. Finding a boot that doesn't rub my heels and gives enough room for all my toes is really challenging.

First, fit -- this boot runs a bit narrow and so I sized up 1/2 size. I usually wear an 8 1/2 but I bought a 9 and it's perfect. I wear Saucony running shoes -- those made for narrow heels and wide toe-bases with good arch support -- and this boot supports that shape of fit. It has decent arch support and is soft enough to mold around my feet and ankles. I was able to put my custom orthodic under the footbed to make it fit even better.

I've taken this out for two hikes so far; one three miler and one seven miler and they were excellent! I live in the pacific northwest so finding a boot with ankle support and water proofing is a must. I recommend this boot to anyone who has narrow ankles/heels, a wide toe bed, and requires higher arch support. It's fantastic!

Recommend for narrow feet but definitely not for wide - not even for the wide size. Should have taken other reviews more seriously - I'm not the first person to say it. I ordered a 7.5 wide (typically a perfect fit for me) and wore them around the house with tags on to make sure they'd work. They fit great front to back and generally everywhere except where they should be wide. My pinky toes were numb within 10 minutes and the rest of my wide foot felt squished and a little numb also - especially the balls of my feet. So many great features on these boots but the inaccurate width was a deal killer for me. I sadly sent them back.

Update 4/22/14: I liked these so much I risked ordering a full size larger than I ever buy and they fit great. Normally 7.5 wide but needed at 8.5 wide. Order larger than usual

I've given this boot a 5 because IF IT FITS YOU the features are great--nice tread, a nice height (some ankle support without being too heavy or constricting), good padding, a good lacing system that lets you adjust tension. However, be sure it fits. My pair felt fine when I first tried them on, but over time I discovered that my outside toes were getting crowded. Much as I hoped these would work, I'm now wearing a men's size in another brand.

What a disappointment! I did a ton of research before buying my first pair of real hiking boots, wore the right socks, got 1/2 size larger, walked around and even tried inclines with them. All was good for a while then I realized what others are saying: they aren't designed correctly. They curve into the toe area too soon and smash the edge of your foot and crowd your toes. This happens after you wear them for a while. It wasn't noticeable when I bought them. It feels as if there is enough room inside the boot but the front part of your foot is being pushed (rotated) towards the outer sides of the boot in the toe area. I have never worn a wide shoe, but I bought a second pair in a wide size. Same problem. This is obviously a design defect. Save yourself some cash and check out a different brand. Too bad.

This shoe was too narrow for my foot, even in the wide size. I normally wear a 6.5 C in a dress shoe, and both the 8 wide and 8.5 wide were too narrow for my foot. They gave no room for the foot swelling that can take place over long hikes.

I don't know how I was hiking without these shoes before! They make a biiiig difference! Excellent grip, very comfy, and my ankles are finally safe. And the best part you don't need to break them in like other hiking shoes! Totally recommended!

Now that I've walked well over 170mi in these boots, I feel that I can write a a a good review.

    Cons:
They fit perfectly in the ankle part but doesn't have much space between your toe and the tip of the boot if wearing thick socks

    Not completely water-proof

    Pros:
    The best ankle support
    Comfortable
    Great traction
    Keep feet warm
    Toeguard
    Lightweight

How did I ever hike without these vasque boots? They are the best thing that's ever happened to me!! You have to wear a pair of thin socks with these in order to have ample room for your toes, or a thin wool sock if it's winter. Best ankle support without being too stiff or too soft. Don't wade in streams because water will get in, but walking through snow or big puddles won't get your feet wet.
The traction is unbelievable, great grip, keep my feet warm and a strong toe tip so when I accidentally kick a rock, I don't feel a thing! These boots are lightweight and can be broken into in less than 10 mi.

Pair these up with a pair of York Nordic trekking poles and you're good to go!!

I didn't buy them on Amazon... and I don't have wide feet. That said, I have used and abused these for 2 field seasons so far and they're still going strong. Lost a little bit of tread/traction but not anything too bad yet. And by "abused", I'm not kidding. I work in some of the steepest, rockiest, ridiculous forests you can imagine (within the bounds of the Pacific Northwest), and wear these during the summer (April thru August) every weekday from between 6 to 14 hours a day, nonstop hiking, thousands of feet in elevation, miles up and down mountains, rarely on roads.

They hold up. They're still waterproof (except where the rubber toe guard is coming loose from the boot body - to no fault of the boots, I abused them), and by far the most comfortable boots I've ever owned. From day 1, I've loved them, and how comfy they are. They have great ankle support, ample toe room, and are stiff enough to step on the sharpest rocks.

Sizing tip (especially for those who can purchase these not on amazon): Look at the European size. On all my most comfy daily shoes, I wear anywhere between 8 to 9 (not helpful when buying a new pair that you need to fit right, and NOW!), but no matter if it's US 8, US 8.5, or US 9, the EURO size is always 39. So, when I went to the store, the guy asked me my size, I told him usually 8, and I immediately checked the Euro size (it was 38), and asked for one size bigger. He didn't believe me because I hadn't even tried it on yet, so I humored him and of course my toes were all smashed in the front. Once I got the size 8.5/39, I knew my feet would be happy. And they have been, ever since!
