I've been shaving my genital area for years and it always left my skin very sensitive and with razor burns. My wife suggested I try a hair removal cream so I decided to give this one a try.
This cream worked great for me. It removed all my hair and it didn't burn at all. Even the smell wasn't bad.
Once I applied the cream all over, I waited 9 minutes (didn't want to risk the 10 minutes maximum) and then used the spatula to remove all the cream and hair. I would recommend wipe the hair on tissue paper and throw it in the trash since you don't want this goo in your drain.
Once I removed as much as I can, I rinsed the rest with warm water in the shower.
After the shower, my skin was very dry so I used moisturizing cream on my skin.
This was a simple, painless and great experience. It was faster than shaving and left my skin nice and smooth.
Since I didn't need to use much cream, this should last me for several uses.
Well, she turned 17 this past week and it's summer, so I figured we'd go for it. It was available for about $6 at Target, and I had a $2 coupon as well as a Target Cartwheel for 20% off, so why not? The reviews were more good than bad and it was for sensitive skin, which she and I both have. I tested it on myself first, a small strip on my shin, which hadn't been shaved in a couple of days. I waited exactly 5 minutes and wiped it off with a warm washcloth and by God...it left a bare, shiny patch of skin with no stubble. No burning, no itching, no redness. I waited another hour just to make sure and then tested it on her. Same thing, a square about the size of half of a Hershey Bar. Watched her closely to make sure she wasn't uncomfortable or hurting in any way and wiped it off after exactly 5 minutes and NO HAIR. On a pretty hairy little leg that's never seen a shaving. No redness, not a single hair left. I'm really impressed, guys. Cheap, easy on our skin and quick. No one's bleeding, no one's soaked from leaning into someone else's shower..this is a big deal for us. The smell was pretty "home-perm" invasive, but for that little inconvenience, still very much worth it. For anyone who hasn't tried it, especially a parent of a special needs girl, give it a shot!
Ladies for your bikini area... I suggest you use some kind of petroleum based oil ... or just petroleum jelly around the hairline to protect your skin. I wouldn't recommend baby oil. Also, that spatula is just a waste of time and will actually cause you to get a chemical burn because you aren't removing the chemical fast enough.
It's safe enough that you can rinse yourself in the shower or bath with warm water. Just don't rub it in... or use soap to rinse it off. You can use a bath scrungy to remove the hair. Go against the grain. That means wipe upward toward your belly and away from your genitals. I wouldn't recommend you use this product after you've showered.
It tends to burn only if your pores are open or if you've previously scratched the area you're going to treat. While waxing does last longer... I tell you this definitely last longer than shaving. If you're prone to hair bumps and ingrown hairs.... Tea tree oil helps and the bumps usually disappears within a couple of days!! DO NOT USE THE TEA TREE OIL RIGHT AFTER APPLYING VEET!!! LOL no I've never done it... and I suggest you don't do it either!!! Unless you want to burn!
I put this on my junk.
It took the hair off.
It did not hurt.
Follow the instructions.
Some advice - Don't shower before applying this stuff. Having your skin's natural oils in place helps prevent burning. If you've been working out or whatever, wait for the skin to recover a day or so before applying this.
It's easy to use, but not suitable for me.
a) Don't exfoliate before you use! Went to the gym, showered with my luffa and then a few hours later went to veet and nearly burned my skin off. Luffa brushes take off some of your dead skin making the veet creme hit the newer skin, and thus the burning.
b) Be generous with the cream! When my chest hair is thicker I really have to lather the stuff on or else I have to finish off with a razor afterwards and that's totally annoying. With a good layer of the stuff you don't have to razor finish off.
c) Use trial and error on how long you leave it on! I've noticed my back/shoulder hair needs only about five minutes but my chest hair a good 8-8.5 but you'll notice some tingling going on and that's when I start to watch my time as this will give you a chemical burn if you leave it on too long.
d) Never re-apply! I had a friend use it once, then go back 15 minutes later to try to get the spots he wasn't happy with and he gave himself a chemical burn. Use it once then let your skin recover for a few days.
e) I don't use their plastic tool. To clean off I simply run myself under the shower and rinse and just hand wipe to get all the major leftovers down the drain and the thicker hair, then just generously lather up my luffa with a creamy shower gel and start wiping off (this is also good to get rid of that smell which if you haven't used before, can be pretty pungent) and i rinse and repeat this a few times to really get the chemical smell off. I find following up with a nice scented lotion helps too.
This is a GREAT product and I've sworn by it for years. Leaves me silky smooth for about 5 days before the hairs start coming back but I think aesthetically I'm good for about 2-3 weeks before I have to re-use.
