As Fields mentions in her intro, this isn't meant to be a healthy cookbook, so know that before you purchase it. That being said, she explains how the air fryer can really help cut back on the amount of oil that you use.
One of the best things I've made from this cookbook so far is the Mongolian Tofu (pictured). I doubled the sauce and steamed some broccoli in it before adding the air-fryed tofu, and then served it over frozen brown rice from Trader Joe's, and it was truly amazing! The texture of the tofu was cripsy, as if it had been baked, and the meal came together really easily.
I've also made her kale chips, donut holes, and French fries -- and all came out fantastic! I bought the BLACK+DECKER Purify 2-Liter Air Fryer, Black/Stainless Steel, HF110SBD when the price was around fifty dollars, and it has worked really well for us and really well with Fields' recipes.
I can't wait to try out more of her tasty creations!

True story: I got an air fryer AFTER I bought The Vegan Air Fryer book because I knew J. L. would put so much instruction and guidance into each recipe and I thought it would help me make a decision about which air fryer my family should buy. As it turns out, my sister had recently bought one and wasn't feeling it. I traded her something she needed for her air fryer and now I can actually use this cookbook! Highly recommended!
