The author, Elizabeth Aron was very inspiring in how she explains the vegan lifestyle. Instead of focusing on what you might be “giving up,” Aron focus is on the enormous benefits you receive from shifting to this new way of living.
Whether one is making the transition from vegetarian or even the more drastic change from non-vegetarian Aron advises going slowly.
I found some of the facts in the book to be very surprising … from some of the celebrities who have embraced veganism to sheer numbers of vegans throughout the world, including a million vegans in the US alone!
In addition to one link that is good for a chuckle (The Vegan Zombie) the book includes dozens of useful links to vegan websites, videos and blogs.
If you are sitting on the fence about becoming a Vegan, this book provide you with the information you need in order to say YES!
I’m so glad I decided to get this book! I’m fairly new to the vegan lifestyle and while the food has never been an issue, the primary reason that’s been bugging me is the fact that there seems to be such a stigma attached to word “vegan”. In this respect there is such a wealth of information between these two covers.
Reading this book, however, just reinforced my strong conviction that vegan is the way to go. The reasons for this are all listed within this book and if you’re reading this, I advice you to take a look for yourself so that you can make an informed decision about which route to take when it comes to your diet. Remember, to a large degree, we become what we eat.
Highly recommended to anyone out there who may be thinking about transitioning into a more compassionate way of eating!
For me, I believe even following a vegan lifestyle for a few days in a week would show tremendous results.
This book is a good read and I highly recommend it.
It was a nice read and some of the citing examples famous personalities being Vegans is astonishing. Author is also kind enough by sharing few of the mouth watering recipes which people may try ! Good Work on the whole !
When you think about changing the human diet globally, the task seems daunting, even impossible, but it really can be accomplished by changing the heart of just one person at a time. The information in the book makes you think. I spoke to my acupuncturist this morning about changing my lifestyle to Veganism. She thought it would be a good change for me, but recommended than I read more of the resources listed in the book. Good job!!
