Recorded in the underground bunker of a Glendale, CA, home affectionately and appropriately dubbed The Bomb Shelter Las Vegas natives Scott Kirkland and Ken Jordan emerged with a suite of songs in homage to their hometown that would lead them to platinum sales, a Grammyr nomination and demand for their music and their skills. Marking the album's 10th Anniversary, Jordan and Kirkland have reassessed and readdressed Vegas, offering a fresh mastering of the original ten songs, the original videos that helped launch the album, rare and live tracks, and new mixes from a brace of remixers personally selected by the duo. Disc 2 includes brand new remixes of classic Vegas tracks by Paul Oakenfold, MSTRKRFT, Hyper, Sta, Deadmau5, Koma & Bones, Tom Real vs. The Rogue Element, and Myagi. Plus the original 1993 version of the Vegas single Comin' Back and all three of the Vegas era videos.

I bought this Deluxe Edition of Vegas for 3 main reasons. (Listed in order of importance.)
1. It's been remastered! I compared the same tracks I ripped (in AAC format) from my original Vegas CD and ones I ripped from this new edition; the difference is like night and day! Much cleaner and more vibrant sounds. It's like listening to the album for the first time all over again!
2. My original Vegas CD has gotten really scratched up over the past...WELL HOLY CRAP, IT REALLY HAS BEEN 10 YEARS! It's on the verge of not being playable anymore, and since I still like to have the physical media for albums I really care about (even albums I download I back-up on CD-R's) it was an excellent excuse to buy this deluxe edition!
3. I got it for cheap off the Amazon Marketplace! (You poor suckers who paid $25 or more for it! Ha, Ha, Ha! ;>b )
As for the "bonus" 2nd Vegas disc with all the remixes and stuff...all the other reviewers are pretty much dead-on when they say it sucks! I only found 3 tracks:(Busy Child (Hyper Remix), High Roller (Myagi Remix), and Vapor Trail (Live)) to be any good at all, the rest are just fodder for those who have no taste! Basic beats, unmemorable music with some sounds from the originals, but they sound nothing even close to their predecessors; basically making it a "listen to it once, then forget about it" CD!
So if you're a TCM fan with an aging, 10 (or even 5) year-old Vegas CD, OR are discovering TCM/Electronica music for the first time; I'd really suggest buying this album. TCM's Vegas is (now) a classic that has and will withstand the tests of time, and now that it's been remastered, it sounds even better!
Listen to a track or two on YouTube, and if you like it, support the artists and buy their music!
Vegas was their first album and today sounds as good as the first day, with some of their classics like Busy Child or Keep Hope Alive as cool as ever.
None of their albums sounds exactly like the others but they always sounds like The Crystal Method, and that's a fact about the importance of their work in the electronic music, so it's easy to enjoy with every album they have released.
About this special edition, the second disc comes with a very nice selection of remixes and some very welcome rarities. I only miss the Trip Like I Do version with Filter, it would be a great bonus.
The package is great too, with a digipack covered by a transparent cover. It comes with nice artwork and a booklet which includes commentaries from the guys about the songs and the album.
In all, a great edition and a great album. What else can we want?
