"Excellent; a great read. I recommend that you pick up a copy of Vegetable Juicing for Everyone."
(Dr. Joseph Mercola)
A reader says:
"I admit I wasn't very favorable towards juicing. But then I read this book and changed my mind. I just loved it!The father-daughter perspective on their experience and attitudes towards juicing makes you laugh and convinces you to try it. It is filled with valuable information that is useful to everyone. The personal stories over decades provide you with practical information that can change your life. I highly recommend the book, and am sharing it with others."
"Much has been written about nutrition and juicing, so Dr. Saul decided to write something different: "This is what I did." He has recorded a family saga that at times makes you laugh out loud and at times fills you with admiration. But do not be misled into thinking that the fun you will have reading this book makes its message any less serious. His children grew to college age without ever taking antibiotics."
About the Author
Andrew W. Saul was known as "The Juicer" when he taught Clinical Nutrition at New York Chiropractic College and postgraduate continuing education programs. He was also on the faculty of the State University of New York for nine years. Two of those years were spent teaching for the University in both women's and men's penitentiaries (no, not as an inmate). He also taught every grade there is in the Rochester-area parochial and public schools. Dr. Saul is the author or coauthor of twelve books, including Doctor Yourself: Natural Healing That Works (now in its second edition) and Fire Your Doctor. He has published over 180 papers in peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Saul is internationally known both for his website and his featured appearance in the documentary movie FoodMatters.
Helen Saul Case, daughter of Andrew W. Saul, is the author of The Vitamin Cure for Women's Health Problems and has published in the Journal of Orthomolecular Medicine. She graduated magna cum laude from Colgate University and then earned a master's degree in education from the State University of New York. She taught English for nine years, is a certified administrator, and worked as English department chair for four years. She currently lives and juices vegetables with her husband and daughter in western New York.

More than just another great book on juicing, VEGETABLE JUICING FOR EVERYONE takes us on Dr. Saul's journey from growing up eating canned foods, watered down ketchup and gray Jell-O, to discovering for himself the many wonderful benefits of juicing.
Dr. Saul then shares his experiences of raising his children on a wholesome diet that, of course, included daily juicing. We then get Helen Case's perspective of growing up in this home, a household that was, I strongly suspect, very different from that of any of her friends. Growing organic vegetables in the family garden and daily juicing were the norm in the Saul household. Ms. Case tells us that, as a result of her experience of the many benefits of juicing, her young childen are now enjoying fresh juices as well.
Besides being an informative and fascinating account of two (and now three) generations of juicers, this book is fun to read, as both authors share a truly wonderful sense of humor. Once you start reading this book it is difficult to put it down (except, of course, it you are suddenly inspired to go the kitchen to make some juice).
I'm looking forward to the rest of the book..just rather disappointed that the first half is devoted to 'memoirs'.
I loved the juicy memoirs and all his juicing advice. Andrew Saul is one of the greats in alternative medicine. He has been out in the wilderness subsisting on Kale, while gravy-stained doctors in Roman villas advised visits to the vomitorium and sucked on Camels.
Don't listen to benighted cry babies with 1,2, and 3 stars: Baptize yourself in vegetable juice and learn.
I will be telling all my friends about this book! Who knows maybe I will buy all my friends one for their birthdays or for Christmas! What a great present that would be and I am sure it would transform some peoples lives without a doubt!

I only gave it 4 stars because the authors could have done without including their lengthy life stories.Read more
