This book was really unique. This is my very first book I have read by Jena Baxter. I really was a really awing book for me. Right away I was crying through the first few chapters, and then it became funny, exciting, dramatic, and enticing.
I loved her insight on the different angels, their jobs, and their names. It was almost like I was there while reading this book. I was seeing it in my mind as if it was a movie. A magical movie.
I really enjoyed this book and I hope others enjoy it with me also.
Great concept, wonderful characters, and a storyline filled with some twists, humor, and drama. The funniest and saddest scenes will stay with a reader; I'll never look at cheesecake the same again. This book ends with some closure and just enough possibilities open that it's difficult to predict where the second book in this series will go. Unfortunately, as of this review the second book is still not available and it's been over a year since book one was released. At least this story ended well enough and without a cliffhanger, so even though the series is incomplete (or may never be completed) a reader will still enjoy this book. I do recommend this book to readers who are looking for depth and something new for angel and human based stories.
When Ilan's bonded-brother, Chayan, becomes one of the Fallen, Ilan is thrown into a pit of sorrow. In this state, he defies his leader one too many times and is assigned to guard the gates of the Fallen. After his stint at the gate he is assigned to a woman whose husband had an affair and left her. Now, Ilan must resist her charms and reunite her with her husband before it is too late. After a night where he almost falls, he erases her memories of him and redoubles his efforts to bring the couple back together. However, humans don't always make the wisest decisions.
If you're looking for a story with angels, humans and decisions that could change the world, this is the book for you!
I was given a ARC for an honest review.
