WOW, this CD tops Zombie's whole catalogue!

EDIT: I also purchased the 12" vinyl to get signed when I meet the band backstage this week. Buyers should be aware that despite being a gatefold album and costing FAR more than the CD, it does not include the full-color glossy art/lyrics booklet that the CD includes.

Let's face it, for a a few albums now, Rob's work has been, well, drifting. We all remember the iconic classics like Astro Creep and Hellbilly Deluxe, and our love for those masterpieces sustained us through the lower years of "Educated Horses" and...what was it, like, FIVE different "Best Of" albums? Sheesh.

Rob's back! This CD is a nonstop tsunami of strong songs. This is the Rob we know: catchy industrial riffs, stomping guitars, thundering drums, and a vocal cadence that helps you forgive the godawful lyrics because the rhythm is just so danged FUN. That's what this album is: fun. It's not headache metal that takes itself too seriously with darkness and devils and horror. Zombie takes all three of those archetypes and shows you how to make a party out of them.

There's not a single "skip" song on the album. Each song works, because the styles actually vary creatively--you have sexy, pulsing pistons like "Rock and Roll (In a Black Hole)" and lap dance bait like "White Trash Freaks." One spectacular moment is when Rob screws up his own lyrics DURING THE RECORDING SESSION, and abandons the verse completely ("F-- it! Just go to the chorus! GO TO THE CHORUS!"). Did I mention this is more about having fun that taking metal too seriously? The chorus he's invoking demands that we "rally 'round the girl with a skull on her ass" with the refrain, "Ging Gang Gong De Do Gong Da Laga Raga!" And it just works.

Hey, I bought this CD on the same day as the new Iggy and the Stooges. I love them both, but Rob Zombie's been in rotation three times more.

yep with shows like the walking dead and movies like world war z what a time for mr. Rob to make a comeback and i mean comeback. i read some of the other reviews and i as well had stopped buying his cds'. he's getting better with age i mean this album rocks...it blows my socks off. i can't believe it sounds excellent and i've been a zombie fan since first 'white'...his last movie was really good as well. it was what i consider a 'classic' horror movie. very entertaining to me. i love you Rob. keep doing your thing...it's your time...

p.s. i usually don't like covers but he blows the roof off 'AMERICAN BAND' and it's positioned perfectly on the cd as follow up to the song b4 it...excellent...

You know, I wanted to love this album. Hellbilly Deluxe was such a great solo effort - sometimes it's hard to recapture the magic. Sinister Urge didn't do it, Educated Horses didn't do it, Hellbilly Deluxe 2 didn't do it... but this one comes closer to the mark.

Rob is such a smart, well-spoken, and talented artist (and he *IS* an artist in the truest sense of the word), I feel a little let down by this effort. Campy horror schlock can be done, and Rob Zombie has shown again and again that it can be done well... this album just feels...off the mark and almost forced.

But you know - it's a great album for road trips.

I, myself, have always liked White Zombie more than solo Zombie. Although he has had some decent releases in his solo career. This disc comes closer to White Zombie than any other of his solo projects. It is a bit faster than WZ, it lacks the serious groove of WZ. Yet it uses the horror sound bytes and the surreal lyrics more akin to WZ. I found it to be more to my liking because of this. It rocks for sure, has energy for days and a campy feel that has been disappearing from his recordings. I for one say welcome back to form!

I keep blindly buying rob zombies stuff, loved hell Billy deluxe 1 and 2, sinister urge, educated horses was terrible, this is slightly better than that but not great. It might make it to good in my book but it won't come close to his first two cds, which I've bought twice because people decided they liked them more than me.

Rob Zombie has always been a leader in the metal/funk/industrial/horror core scene, and this album delivers. IMHO, the 2 best tracks are the first 2: Teenage Nosferatu Pussy, and Dead City Radio and The New Gods of Supertown (especially the video for the 2nd one). The rest of the album is pretty good, but the constant use of megaphone-like vocals starts to get a little annoying. Buy if you're a hard core RZ fan, but others might just like to download what they prefer.

I've been looking forward to this album and it didn't disappoint. In fact, this is probably Rob Zombie's best album since The Sinister Urge back in 2001. As much as i enjoyed Hellbilly Deluxe 2, Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendour has more memorable songs with some great hooks that grab you straight away. The likes of Teenage Nosferatu Pussy, The Girl Who Loved The Monsters and the brilliantly named Ging Gang Gong De Do Gong De Laga Raga(yes, ive got the album infront of me!) are just pure Zombie; big riffs, catchy hooks and choruses, danceable beats and samples taken from obscure B-movies. If i was being picky then Rock and Roll(in a black hole) gets a bit repetitive and a cover of Grand Funk's We're An American Band, although decent, feels a bit filler-ish lodged between the brilliant White Trash Freaks and Lucifer Rising but thats not enough to stop this being a great album.

I think they now have a really good band, half of which was Mansons, but what is his loss is definitely Zombies gain, no wonder Manson has gone down the pan.

I can't actually say there is a bad track however there are some really awesome tracks that are really catchy and you can play again and again.

In my opinion it's Hellbilly Deluxe as no.1, this album no.2, Educating horses no.3 the rest are equally matched but still pretty cool.

Keep up with the good work Zombie and Co.

Ever since white zombie, I've been a fan of this fella. OK, he's a bit of a re-incarnation of Alice C, but the boombastica sounds are fare heavier and dramatic.

Recently missed his twins of evil tour with MM, but have to say, I really hope he continues to make music. Yes it's a little bit of leave your brain at the door and the lyrics aren't to be taken seriously, but honestly it's great fun and highly entertaining.
