Seller reports they've fixed the stitching issue along the closure straps (see previous review below). They sent me a replacement and it looks like they've doubled up on the stitching through this portion of the flap. I haven't taken them out on tour yet but will update once I do. For the moment, I have to say it's great to see a manufacturer who takes customer feedback and improves the product accordingly. Based on that and everything else I really like about these bags, I highly recommend them.
These have 5 star potential, BUT the top flap straps (both sides) began to tear out after about 2 months of regular use. Understand, this was not harsh usage or abuse, just regular opening and closing without much pressure. Beyond that, I really like the bags.. incredible capacity, easy to mount, easy to open/close, a touch heavy but not bad, and generally maintain their shape. I hope Venzo will redesign the stitching of the top cover. Aside from that one issue, the bags are super great.
Totally waterproof, never had any issues there, even in seattle day to day.
Attachments to any rack should be easy- the clothespin latches up top are super simple to attach, and the bottom piece just wedges it between the bottom bars of the rack, but truthfully if im in a hurry and don't wedge it in there properly, it still hangs on just fine.
It is large and holds heavy loads. The smaller internal pockets are nice and light. I do wish it had a more external or easy to access small pocket, but alas.
Only other wish it that it had backpack straps. It has a really sturdy messenger bag strap (optional to clip on), but with the flat plastic back of the bag and its large size, it's not comfortable to wear if walking a ways.
Otherwise, this bag has really solved any rain paranoia I had about biking in Seattle.
Updated to 5 stars: Seller sent me a new bag even when I was past the warranty. Good to see folks standing behind their products! All other bags still holding up very well. That's worth 5 stars to me.
First off, it's cheap which is probably why anybody would be looking at this bag. The gray is attractive looking and the outer material is solid....definitely waterproof. The closures are all sound although closing the top horizontally and then down is a bit clunky, but perhaps that is just to have two options?
The biggest plus is its size...quite spacious and adjusted for the groceries that I often lug home. The smaller compartments are functional and don't get in the way of lugging bulky things. On the downside, the material is a little on the light side and I would think it may be easily torn or worn.
The most troublesome feature of this bag are the attachment pieces. The top are "clothespin type", meaning you have to squeeze and clip. Doing this and catching the bottom attachment was challenging and maybe not designed for my rack. However, mine is a standard, but older Topeak. Don't know if others have had the same issue but I would think that it is not as universal as what I've found in Ortlieb's attachment systems.
Overall, for the price it's worth a go, especially if you need a bigger bag to haul groceries. Just keep in mind that the attachments may take some extra thinking.
