Very good media, excellent price

I just bought this a few days ago, so far so good. It only burns at 8x on my NEC ND-3500AG with 2.18 or 2.19 firmware though on the package it says it may be able to be burned at 12x with supported hardware (Some plextors and NEC ND-3540, not sure about others). If anyone is wondering, this is the good stuff.

My DVDs arrived fine, and were packaged adequately. No complaints about the discs themselves either, as they're MCC media code, and have never failed me, and I've been using Verbatim for years.

For anyone complaining about shipping problems, particularly the person who claims they got a bunch damaged, and aren't going to do anything about it, just call up Amazon at 1-800-201-7575 and let them know. You'll get a replacement order shipped out, most likely with free two-day shipping, and a return label to return the damaged media. Can Amazon mess up at times with their packaging? Yes. Do they always solve things in a nice and timely manner? Yes. Just call them up. Don't sit there and pretend you have no recourse.

DVD'ss get 5 stars but Amazon's shipping is terrible

So I ordered the DVD's which are a really good product. However, I am furious with Amazon! When my order arrived, the DVD's were all over the box and the case was broken into several pieces. The box that it was shipped in was not even dented! So how did they break so easily, got to be the poor poor poor shipping job done by Amazon. There was hardly any packing material in the box.

I quickly complained to Amazon and they fixed the problem however, it still does not fix that I had to wait another five days until I got my DVD's! So be very careful when ordering this product from Amazon. They do a terrible job shipping the DVD-R/DVD+R's and CD-R's. I would recommend Amazon using a much smaller box and put packing peanuts in there instead. Not five or six of those little air pockets.

Pick a brand, any brand. Record and archive for six months. Test your recording and see how good it is. You will probably find that a high percentage of the disks are no longer 100% readable. The Verbatim is better than any retail consumer brand blank DVD I have ever tried.

I always verify my disks after burning. I get a few coasters with Verbatim but not as many as any other brand (I have tried them all!). If it verifies as good today, it verifies as good six months from now. That is important to me.

I always liked their audio cassette tapes back in the day. Their DVD's are superior to other brands, too. I have not had a problem with them yet, unlike friends of mine who have burned to other name brands and found they don't play in quite a few DVD players. Other brands seem to be readable by some DVD players and not others. I've yet to have that problem with Verbatim's discs - and I'm getting tired of having to do favors and burn down for some other friend whose DVD player won't read the other brands!!!!!

These DVD+R's came to me with a horrid packaging job. The tray holder was cracked and as stated in other reviews, the spindle was bouncing all over the box, you could actually shake it back & forth to hear & feel the spindle move.

Other than that. It was a GREAT deal from Amazon. The discs seem to be okay despite their packaging. Haven't burned anything yet, but checked the manufacture code on disc and it's rating high quality media (MCC 03). Just wish Amazon would take pride with the packaging on these.

I rarely write a review , but I figure I should on this one. First off, the price was perfect for 100 dvd blanks. Next, the quality of the blanks for burning backups of dvds I have, worked fantastic... although finding the right software to do the deed is tricky at first. Anyhow, I also had to clean house on a 30 gig drive and a laptop so the file transfer worked fine to the dvd's. My only problem was with the shipment itself. It came in some square box...I opened the box to find some paperbags wrapped around a broken dvd container with the blanks barely hanging on. The plastic that incased them was totally shreded and broken. Go figure! They need to work on their shipping skills. Try bubble wrap next time boys and not paper sacks. Other than that, I just needed to burn backups of dvds and get files to dvds so the item itself worked pro. I highly recommend. I don't blame Verbatim for the shipping issues... Go for it.

Verbatim makes great media. The media code of these Verbatims are MMC 003. Some burners can burn these at 12x. Works great with Sony (DW-D22A to DW-D28A), NEC 3520A, AOPEN DUW1608/ARR, and MicroAdvantage (8DVDRW-B13 and 16DDVDRW-A13). Always check videohelp on the quality of the media <a (...)
