The title is somewhat misleading* since, although the moon and Mars are already occupied and enjoying expanding development in this somewhat distopian near future, most of the action takes place in Vermont. *[ADDENDUM: Not until I'd completed PART II--MARS of the first novel and started BOOK 2 (a nice little murder mystery--reviewed separately) did I realize I hadn't actually finished the whole novella when I initially wrote this. Part II, which takes place on Mars--thus the book title--works absolutely independently although it fits perfectly into the universe and continues the concepts of Part I as well as bringing the family story forward another two generations. I felt as if I'd received a bonus story!]
A lot of the predictions are quite plausible although I would argue government involvement would be far MORE than posited. But this is not my future universe, it is Mr. Graham's, and it is at once as low key as the narrator and as fraught with potential tension as a mafia thriller.
