I bought this before the Ipad was even released. I love to read in the hot tub, bathtub, or anyplace with water and there is nothing worse than getting your book (or in this case $800 tablet) wet.
When I purchased my Ipad I put a ZAGG InvisiShield on it to protect it.
So it has been a couple of months now that I have had my Ipad and InvisiShield so I decided it was high time I read a book (using Kindle for Ipad of course) and so I filled up my bathtub and started reading using my nifty waterproof case (this one here that I am reviewing.) So below is what you will find as my pros and cons:
Pros: My Ipad didn't get wet. That is the main purpose of this, so it is good that it worked that way! Basically it has two ziplock type enclosures and seals your Ipad in really well. I have the Ipad case from Apple and did NOT need to remove it to get it in here (A HUGE PLUS!) I was still nervous with expensive electronics in the bathtub, but this thing did well. (I did not submerge it, but it did get wet often.)
Also, I noted hardly any loss in touch control. It did a great job in this regard! I was worried about this, but don't worry, touch still works well!
So 3 Pros: Kept dry, I could use my Apple Ipad Case with it, really no loss of touch control.
Cons: Okay, this is the reason I only gave it 3 stars. Now, to be fair, this might not be this product's fault, it could be Zagg's InvisiShield's fault: When I removed my Ipad from the waterproof case, it stuck to my screen protector - like glue. It took me 10 minutes to get my Ipad out of this waterproof case and it pulled enough on my screen protector I now have hundreds of air bubbles under my screen protector. I don't know if it was the humidity or what that caused the two to stick together, but it was absolutely a nightmare getting my Ipad out of the case. I now have to order a new screen protector. Because of this reason I now have a choice: protect my screen 24/7 or protect my Ipad when by water - not a good choice to make.
I really don't know if I should be blaming Zagg or this product, but none the less, I can no longer use this product. (As a side note, my screen protector had been on for a couple of months so it was dry and fixed.)
If you are one of those people who don't use a screen protector, I assume you won't have any problems, but I can't be 100% sure. I would like to read comments from others who used this product with their Ipad and if they had any problems with removal from the pouch.
Bottom line, it will keep your Ipad dry, but may cost you a lot of headaches with your screen protector.
