Verso Clip Light for E-Readers
By LightWedge

If you’re an avid bedtime reader, you’re certainly well acquainted with Snoozy McSnoozerson. No matter what that person lying next to you is named during waking hours, when consciousness settles into its daily twilight, and you need a bedtime story to take that final edge off, Snoozy’s saying a silent prayer your bedside lamp will suddenly burn out…and if you’re lucky, that’s all.

The Verso Clip Light is the solution you need to keep Snoozy’s grumblings at bay. The LED light and optical-grade acrylic lens keeps the light off them while evenly illuminating your e-reader for minutes or (up to 15) hours of strain-free enjoyment. The flexible neck adjusts perfectly to eliminate unwanted glare or reflection, and the grippy wide clip ensures a stable connection to your e-reader without getting in the way.

I love seeing other's video reviews and find them really helpful. I needed a book light for night reading with my Kindle and relied on fellow Amazon buyer's personal reviews to make my selection. I ended up purchasing the Verso light for Kindle and was really happy with, so here's my review.......

This is my favorite light so far (since I got my KT and no longer can use my lighted cover from my K3). It clips on to my cover without leaving any marks, it's easily adjusted, and the brightness is similar to that of my old lighted cover. It lights up the screen evenly. The battery has lasted so far, but the nice thing is having the peace of mind that when it goes out, they sent me an extra one as a back-up. I think I have a touch of OCD and I can't stand anything touching my KT...I found that I can keep my light clipped to the front cover, and when I fold it back, it is in perfect position for reading (just a hint). My only problem is that when I'm reading in bed I feel like I have to do a little too much adjusting of the light to get it right. It shines brightly at the top and as I'm adjusting to get it right, I feel like it is too bright in my eyes. Full disclosure: I suffer from migraines and this could be light sensitivity on my end. Once I get the light in the right position it is fine. (Maybe if I inclined more in bed, it would be better too). I hope this helps. I'm happy with this purchase, and I will probably use this and be happy with it until the lighted cover prices drop or I get a KSO to get a healthy discount on it.

I think it is overpriced, but easy to store and use. My problem with it is that it puts a "spotlight" glare on the kindle screen and I have to fiddle with it a lot and position the Kindle just right when reading in dark situations.

This light doesn't throw enough light to read in a semi dark area. I have a light I bought for $5. that I can easily read in a completely dark room . I don't get that from this $20. light. I wouldn't recommend this light.

The good: The light is small and compact. It clips securely to my Kindle Touch. One small bright LED. Batteries were pre-installed, and it came with an extra set of batteries.

Less good: There's definitely a bright spot, bright enough to somewhat impede my ability to see words on the page. Doesn't fold flat. Takes non-standard batteries -- the round CR2032 batteries. I have no idea how easy these are to find, so I ordered some extras from Amazon. The lamp, though compact, doesn't fold up in any way for travel.

All in all, a better reading light than I'd had. Wish there was a reading lamp that diffuses the light a bit to eliminate that bright spot.

I've looked around the Internet for a clip-on light for my Kindle 3. Most of the lights I've found either hung over the screen too far or didn't produce enough light. This light is perfect. I purchased the turquoise to match my Beesocks cover. I can either clip it onto my cover or directly on the Kindle itself just over the logo. If you're looking for a decent light with a small footprint, look no further...you've found it.

Kindle 3 for Christmas, and have spent 2 months searching for a light that

a: Fits - will clip on a naked Kindle, no cover, no sleeve, nothing but Kindle.
b: Is bright enough

Bought three other lights, RocketFish - clip attaches and holds on to the bare Kindle just fine. Brightness? Ummm, no. The poor light is spotty.

Bought the MightyBrite. Bright as can be, clear and wonderful. Clip is so big and heavy you have to have the Kindle in a case to get it to atttach.

Random no-name clip on light from Dollar Tree. Decent light, clip is still to big for the small Kindle.

Poster on a Kindle board suggested the Verso and I have seen the light!

If you want to read in bed or in the dark on your Kindle, don't waste time and money on other lights, just buy this one.

I purchased this after looking at all the available options for a reading light for my kindle 3. It works quite well. The clip has rubber cushions inside and is moulded to clip nicely and securely to the kindle. The small batteries sit in the head of the light. The whole unit is nice and light and doesn't feel like it outweighs the kindle (like I assume some other models powered by AAA batteries would. There doesn't seem to be a chance the clip would scratch my Kindle skin, so this is also a good choice for people with skins. Seems like it would work just fine with other devices or normal books given how the clip works.

I wanted the graphite colored light, but it was out of stock and I wanted a light now more than I cared about the color.

Very happy with the quality of the device as well as the quality of the light. I don't have enough usage yet to see how long the batteries last, but I was able to pick up 25 batteries (amazon recommended it as an item others buy when buying this light) for 4.00.
