Prologue Green
Verso Prologue Green E-Reader Cover for Kindle Fire
By LightWedge

It’s rare for a book to become a classic overnight. Just ask Henry David Thoreau. He only managed to publish two books during his lifetime, both of which were regarded as strange and weird. He even paid for the printing of one out of his own pocket, a 1,000-volume run of A Week on the Concord and Merrimack Rivers. Fewer than 300 sold before his death.

Not until the 1920s did Thoreau earn his due, and today, it’s difficult to find a high school graduate that wasn’t required pick up his ode to natural living, Walden.

Like the literary palate of the reading public, the Verso Prologue e-reader might also require a short breaking-in period. But that’s because it’s hand constructed of super-durable, high-quality materials. Namely, animal-friendly “leather” on the outside. Don’t worry; you won’t miss the cow. You will quite pleased with the classy look, supple feel, and impressive durability of the Prologue. A hand distressed finish, carefully embossed embellishments, and antique foil stampings add sophistication.

On the inside, advanced microfiber engineered for maximum softness cradles your device when closed while patent-pending silicone-enhanced corner elastic straps hold it in place—a grip guaranteed for the lifetime of your device.

This is my video review of multiple Verso tablet cases, including the original green verso antique which was released for the first kindle tablet. I am trying these cases on multiple tablet devices. Included in the devices of choice are the Blackberry Playbook which is exactly the same dimensions as the kindle fire, the nook hd, and the ipad mini. I also explain the ports, the texture, the non existence of a magnet which the give you the illusion of having when you initially touch this object... and the elastics. everything you need to know about how this case will fit any tablet is explained here. I hope this helps answer any questions.. and if you would like to know anything else please feel free to ask, i would love to help. THIS IS MADE FOR THE KINDLE FIRE HD, but does fit the Blackberry playbook as well.

I will note that the elastics are indeed thinner as a few other reviewers have noted and I don't have a problem with this at all, it makes the case more compatible with other devices where as the old case with thicker elastic had the issue of the elastic covering volume buttons, ports, or mics.

I read the reviews and I waited days to purchase because there was not many reviews on the green color and because so many people scared me that it was too tight and that the cover did not close flat! I am glad I went ahead and ordered it because it worked perfect! As soon as it came out of the box I took the case and really worked on the spine so it was not super stiff and would close flat on the kindle fire. I put the kindle in and it was nice and snug but not too snug (I had no problem)! I have had it for almost 2 months and I love it! The green is awesome ~ it is a nice antique looking green (very much like the pictures)and it looks like a cool antique book (everyone loves it and wants one). I am so glad I went with the green even though I could not find reviews for it (I almost went with the brown to play it safe)I am posting pictures so you can see how it closes and to see a real life picture of the green!

I'm not sure why everyone is saying this doesn't fit. I read reviews for all the different covers for my Kindle Fire before deciding on this one - and I was nervous. My Kindle and cover arrived together today, and I immediately slipped the Kindle in. Slid in easily - now are the elastic bands loose? No. But not too tight either. They are also not 100% even in the sense that every corner is identical. But this cover gives access to charging vs a sleeve, and looks like a book and will protect the screen from scratches when traveling with it. As far as it laying flat as other reviewers said, mine is nearly flat. And I was able to flatten it more by just breaking in the binding a little like you would any other book (albeit more gently). I plan to leave it overnight upside down to finish the job. Overall, totally worth it and works as it should.

Love the color and the print. It's slim and stylish and protects the kindle while making it easier to hold. However - the big problem, it doesn't really fit the Kindle Fire. When laying on the "back" of the book, the front continues to stay open more than just a little. We're now laying the FIRE on it's 'front' (print face down) to try and stretch it a bit to conform more to the size. All in all, my daughter loves the look...and that's all that matters.

1-19-13 UPDATE - so after time, the book "cover" stretched and it closes just fine now. We can even keep a smaller stylus in between the binding and the kindle edge. It looks and feels very classy. If you want a cover that holds other junk stuff, this isn't it. This is just a plain and simple, yet elegant looking, cover to keep the the kindle front safe and hold it.

I absolutely love this cover, which I purchased in the dark green, and had no problem inserting my Kindle Fire into it. If I could change one thing, however, it would be to have some sort of mechanism to ensure that it stays closed while in my bag as I'm afraid that something else I'm carrying will scratch the screen. I've noticed that the covers made specifically for the Kindle Fire don't seem to have clasps and wonder why that is? I have a wonderful cover for my other Kindle and it provides a closure. Despite this problem, the cover still gets five stars from me...it looks and feels luxurious. What the heck...I can always put a rubber band on it when I toss it in my bag!

I loved the look of this online and then was a little skeptical when I received it b/c the product insert does not have it as being compatible with the Kindle Fire which is what I bought it for. However, I slipped my Kindle in and it fits just fine. It's a tight fit so that it doesn't move around and it looks great. It looks genuinely like a leather bound book. I've also bought other sleeves, etc. for my Kindle and this by far is the best. It looks really classy and fits in my purse with this cover so much better than any of the sleeves. I love it!

I don't know what everyone's complaining about. The Kindle Fire fits just fine in this cover. It's beautiful and really does look like leather. I cancelled this one and ordered another cover after really looking at the reviews and now have both. Really tempted to keep this one too...

The only negative is it cannot be used as a stand and you can't really bend it back. I mean , you can, but I'd be afraid it will break.
