Fun, quick read

This humor book about quirks of English people was amusing, especially if you get the Kindle version for 99 cents--not sure I think it is worth the $12 paperback price. The illustrations were quite cute as well. Actually, though I'm not English and have never been in the UK, I found a lot of these traits applied to me. I think what the author is describing as British traits are really descriptive of reserved/quiet/introverted people everywhere. I laughed out loud at the author's description of getting angry when somebody tries to get on the elevator while you are trying to get off. That's me! What is it with these mothers who press their strollers up against the door and try to get on as soon as the door opens, and are shocked, SHOCKED, as if it's a foreign concept, that there are already people on the elevator who are getting off? This is a quick read; a good train or airplane book.

Brilliantly Funny

I bought this book for my brother for his birthday. He lived in England for two years and misses it all the time. So he was excited to get this book. Having visited only once I get some of the Britishisms, but some are lost on me. However the book is funny regardless if you are British or not. And the little illustrations are great! Very fun book to read and very funny especially for anyone who knows someone British or has been there!

Great book for understanding British Culture

This book is hilarious especially for me being married to someone who was raised by parents who immigrated from London in 1946 after the war. They had children later in life (age 37) and was trying to raise little British subject in America in the 50's. It was an eye opener for my spouse read which gave him insight into understanding why he is the way he is.
