Her Christmas Rogue by Christi Caldwell 5 stars
Trent is in love with Winnifred. What's the problem? Well, he has no title, he's a second son, and her brother is his best friend (which means he pretty much knows Trent's history as a rogue). So with all that, Trent's course of action.... Be aloof and standoffish and ignore all his feelings towards Winnifred (if only she would stop being so darned desirable). Winnifred is in love with Trent. What's the problem? Well, he still sees her as a little girl, still insists on calling her girlish nicknames, and every time she's around, he acts aloof and standoffish. But Winnifred is going into her 3rd season and she is determined to get Trent to acknowledge her for the woman she has become. Fun ensues as these two play cat and mouse around each other. ... Until the finally give into their feelings. Yay!! Totally loved this story!!
To Make a Perfect Scandal by Danelle Harmon 4 stars
Letitia and Tristan's story was cute. Loved that they met while Lettie was in disguise. She snuck out of the house and donned on a shirt and britches to look at a horse in Tristan's stables. They are both mad about horses. I loved how Lettie's mom played matchmaker in this one. My first Danelle Harmon and I liked it.
To Win a Quiet Heart by Renee Bernard 5 stars
What a totally sweet story. Can I please please hug Nick, the awesome hero of this novella? I'm a little bit of an introvert, so him being paralyzed in fear during social events is something I can totally relate to. And then you have Jane, our wonderful heroine. Her past seasons have not been the best. She's a bit socially awkward, which have caused a few embarrassing missteps. Her mother despair of her "wobbles". But these two together make the perfect couple. They feel the most comfortable when they are with each other.... And isn't that the best? When you find one one you can be yourself around? I really enjoyed reading Nick and Jane's HEA. Absolutely loved this story!!
To Tempt a Saint by Valerie Bowman 3 stars
Oh no... This story was just okay for me. I liked Christopher. Thought he was a yummy hero.... But I didn't care for Prudence. She lived up to her name and her talk of sinning or not sinning got a bit much for me. I did think the ending with the sleigh was cute.
Each anthology is it's own story, but the characters intermingle with each other. Most anthologies have 1 story that I like less than the others, but not this one. I enjoyed them all. If you like Christmas stories I recommend this book.
I had concerns that the four stories would seem disjointed as they are written by four different authors. The concerns were unfounded. The four separate separate short stories wind together to make one cohesive tale.
