I was really hoping my senior kitty would like these as much as the regular nu-cat supplements which he loves and I have given him as a 'treat', but, these are a different formula/flavor and too hard for him to chew which was very disappointing. He also doesn't seem too thrilled about the smell because they don't have the beefy-livery scent like the non-senior nu-cat supplement pills. At first, he tried a few times to chew the pills and often the pill would fall out of his mouth because he couldn't crush it in his mouth.

So, I've decided to grind these pills up in my spice grinder and add 1/4 teaspoon to his wet food each day instead, but, after he's gone through this supplement I am switching him back to the regular nu-cat pills which he goes crazy for.

Hard like rocks! I have a multi-cat household, and all the cats have loved the regular Nu-Cat vitamins and would eat them out of my hand with no problem for years. As they are all seniors now, I ordered a bottle of the senior formula, and first of all, NONE of my cats will eat them willingly anymore. If I pill them the vitamins or dip them in tuna or salmon juice, they might eat them, but these tablets are so hard that the cats vomit them up WHOLE later in the day or even the next morning! They are not digested at all. I've tried grinding them up and mixing the powder in the cats' food, but then they will not eat the food! VetriScience needs to bring back the regular Nu-Cat vitamins, not the liquid or chews which my cats ... and many others I see in reviews ... will not willingly consume! No one wants to force vitamins down their cats' throats at meal times, especially if you have multiple cats.

It lost one star for the fact they are firm, like a vitamin C tablet that you would chew. If you don't mind grinding in a mortar and pestle, the cats don't mind it mixed with wet food. In fact, I think they really like the taste. I mix some water in and add the vitamins crushed to powder, stir it up, and they go nuts for it. Noticeable difference in coat appearance and how their fur feels, and even seems to make them more perky. Would be easier if they just sold it as a powder.

I love this product. I just wish my cat wouldn't have run away so I could have seen their full effect as per the regular routine.
