The ViaAqua in tank led light strips are sensational. Up lighting adds an entire new dimension to aquascaping and allows you to create many stunning, creative and unique effects. In the past I tried a similar product made by Marineland - whose products I usually love. But the problem with their light strips is that they're so light - and the suction cups so little that the wands kept popping loose and floating to the surface.

Or my fish could dislodge them easily with a single nudge. That's not the case here. The ViaAqua units are quite heavy - and the large, powerful suction cups are attached to moveable, braces that wrap around 3/4 of the wand. The end result is they stay put beautifully. Even my 8 inch Blue Oranda can't make them budge - and THAT'S saying something.

I have two of the all blue in one 55 tank and decided to try two of the blue and white 12" wands in another. The effect is simply gorgeous.I run both wands with a Rena 400 air pump which is more than able to create a steady flow of beautiful and uniform bubbles. The pump has two outputs and each is fully adjustable so you can go from a delicate flow of bubbles to a full throttle air curtain.

More than simply a visually stunning and unique addition to your tank - the aeration infuses your water with more much needed oxygen. One common annoyance with most of these double service air wands is that they clog easily - and fairly often.A quick remedy is to gently run your finger or a blunt tool (I use the edge of a flat butter knife) along the rubber hose and this clears it out immediately and the full wall of bubbles bounces right back.

If you don't have an overhead LED lighting system these are a wonderful substitute - at a fraction of the cost.

I have a 10 gallon tank and had to replace the fluorescent fixture after it "died" from old age. The cost for a replacement was as much as I paid for the entire tank and light together. In searching I came across this light. It is the perfect size for the tank. It sits at the bottom and is held in place by two suction cups that can't be seen. It is also nicely weighted to help prevent floating. The blue and white led's add a nice glow to the tank. It is not bright like a fluorescent but it does provide a unique look. It is very well made and the built in air stone provides a powerful wall of bubbles. As with any air stone you need a separate pump. There is no on/off switch but at only 2.7 watts, I leave it on all the time. The air stone will need occasional cleaning and I do this with an old toothbrush while it is still in the water. I am very pleased with this light and if you want something different, I recommend it.

The bar works overall very well. The blue LEDs have stayed strong (and really what I wanted it for), along with the bubbles (which is the important part). A little simple monthly cleaning of the front (toothbrush, brushed over) keeps them bubbling well. The white LED's have taken on more of a yellow hue and when on a dimmer really suffer.

Did I mention they are bright!?! Great for effect, but if you are using it for a night light, placement and a dimmer is a must. Nocturnal fish will not like these on all night at full strength.

I've had this for about a month now with no issues. I do have to adjust the air pump occasionally to get a consistent stream of bubbles, but I don't know if it is the pump or the stone that is the issue. I like the lights at night.

After one month lights and bubbles work fine although I have observed that the bundles are a little less than when I first started using it. All in all great purchase for the price and the fishes are happy.

These are nice units that function as advertised. I have two of them to cover the back of my 55 gallon tank. The units when combined with a good air pump produce a great bubble curtain. The lights may be too bright for your tank as night lights, for this reason I'm giving a very nice product four stars. I personally blocked some the white lights with rocks to cut down on the light in the tank if the manufacture supplied snap on white light cover(s) or a dimming method it would make these lights ideal but I do recommend buying them if you need night lights in your tank just be aware you may need to block some light in some way.

love the bubbles it produces and the light effects. not sure if i should keep it on 24/7, but i do. I currently only have glofish in the tank so not worried if i lose one. i somewhat buried mine in the gravel and tossed the included suction cups. no issues with it floating and you can still see the LED's.

Update: One month later and it still looks and operates like new. It stays firm in the gravel (without the suction cups) even when siphoning/vacuuming around it. It's positioned under the filter return so it illuminates the ripples from that as well. No ill affects to the fish having it on 24/7.

Lights look cool and stay relatively clean; the airstone clogged within a week under water. I tried the flat edge of the butter knife trick to clean the pores of the rubber but it didn't work at all for me. Some said just use a push pin to punch new holes in the rubber but I thought, I'm not going to do that every week! So, I wound up buying a much better airstone here (Como Fish Tank Aquarium Blue 14" Bubble Wall Airstone w 3 Suction Cup) and just stuffing that under the lights and now I'm happy. The lights are not too bright, don't bother the fish and if your tank has a glass top the lighted water creates an eerie water-flow image on your ceiling which my wife commented that she thought that looked pretty cool! Recommended, for the lights only though.
