Product Description

This compact 1/2 gallon air tank is rated at 150 PSI, is continuously welded, and internally and externally coated for corrosion resistance. With Two 1/4" NPT female ports,The tank can be mounted in many positions for installation of safety valves, pressure switches, and drains without the use of costly manifolds. All mounting hardware included. 5" long x 6" diameter. Silver finish.

The threads in the tank were badly done and had to be touched up with a tap. One has to be very careful here not to completely strip the treads. Then, when screwing in a nipple one has to be very careful to enter it straight since tank treads are not 100 % and can easily be permanently damaged. Tank itself seems to be well made.

This is a great little tank where space is limited to mount the tank and air compressor for your air horn. Its only shortcoming is the lack of a moisture bleed [...]. I had to replace my first tank because of a HUGE amount of rust and water that builds up in the tank (built-up condensation due to temperature extremes). Now I manually bleed the tank every month or so.

The tank is steel with silver powdercoating. It isn't sold with any fittings, so you have to add a drain [...] to drain moisture from the tank. Also remember to always use a safety valve to vent high pressure in case of an emergency. The tank is very small, so you may have to drain it often if you compress air into it regularly. Mounting the tank to allow the use of a drain [...] is also important since there are only two ports available on the tank (just mount the tank vertically). The four port, one gallon tank made by the same company maked this problem non-existent and its still compact.
