Clarification on battery orientation

I bought this in March 2016, and the manual included a clear illustration of proper battery insertion. You can find a PDF of the manual on the product's website. I've also uploaded the relevant image here.

No other feedback yet, but it seems to work fine so far and I'm pleased with the small form factor and relatively quiet operation. It is definitely not as powerful as a wall-powered unit.

Quit working in less than a month

We have had multiples of this massager over the years and it has been a reasonably good value. Like all mechanical things they will eventually have issues. We have noted a decrease in quality over the years but all previous models have served us for years. This one, however, had the motor stop working in less than a month of light use. This is well within the warranty period so have contacted the vendor to request a replacement. We will see how that works out.

Shake Your Junk but Not TOO Much

I got this because I wanted something strong but that I don't have to plug in - portability and convenience is what I'm looking for in my toys at this juncture. I read reviews around the net and decided on this. This is made by the same company that is now marketing the Magic Wand (used to be known as the Hitachi) and was brought up as a good alternative. The 4 AA batteries do the trick and this is pretty powerful (for me anyway). From what I've heard, the Magic Wand *Hitachi* will shake your junk off and that's not what I want right now - my parts aren't quite so battle-hardened yet. If that is what you're looking for, just get the Magic Wand. They are in a similar price range ($40 to $60) so it all comes down to the type of sensation you want.

The silicone head cover is soft and easy to wash, the waterproof claim has held up so far though all I do is clean it, and it should be noted that as the batteries wear down the power decreases as well (they're batteries, people…It's a sacrifice I can live with right now). Lastly, I don't know if anyone else had this trouble but don't confuse the Mystic Wand with the Mini Magic Wand. They are 2 separate things. Made by the same company, both battery operated, and similar in appearance but different. This is the MYSTIC wand but I'm sure you can find the Mini Magics around here somewhere. Happy Hunting!

Technical details since I never found anything accurate: Tip of head to bottom of handle is 8.25". Head diameter is 1 7/8". Circumference of head is 5.75". It is all SILICONE. Do not use silicone lube with it or even near it. Do not let it touch other silicone objects or objects made of jelly. It comes with a nice black satiny bag. I would not let it touch any other plastics. (That applies to storage not bumping against something while using.

This is not nearly as strong as the Magic Wand. I wasn't expecting it to be since it runs on batteries. BUT it's as powerful as one could hope for on 4 AA batteries! I am very pleased.

The entire covering is smooth which is very nice. The top cover comes off to clean - not overly difficult to remove. The entire thing seems waterproof - it says water resistant. The buttons are big enough to feel and easy to press. It IS short so it can be hard to reach if that is a problem for you.

It is difficult to see which way the batteries go in. I couldn't tell so I had my boyfriend put them in. I will be very careful when changing them to put the new ones in exactly the same way. This is its major fault.

Overall, it is just what I was looking for and it seems to have been worth the price. I tend to break things so If I break it soon you can expect to see an edit to this review.

Found this toy through Oh Joy Sex Toy and decided to give it a try as I wanted a wand type toy but prefer not to have a cord. I've not used the Hitachi so I can't compare its power, but the Mystic Wand has a nice strong rumbly vibration - the third setting can even be too much for me sometimes. During longer play sessions I eventually go numb from any of the settings. Cycling through the settings to get back to what you want if you go past it is a minor annoyance. Size-wise it's bigger than other toys I've used (my other go-to is a Layaspot), but smaller than other wand toys. The carrying pouch is nice to have since the silicone head is prone to picking up dust.

The symbols to show you how to put in the batteries are a little vague; it would be easy to put them in wrong. But for being a battery powered toy, the batteries last quite a while! I'm using just plain ol' dollar store batteries and they've lasted me through several uses and are still going strong. This is not a quiet toy, but if you put on some music or a fan it probably won't be heard through a closed door. The lights are a little bright, but "green, orange, red" for the speeds is cute.

This little guy was one of my best purchases on Amazon ever. It's the only thing that works for my girlfriend and after almost two years I'm back to buy another. Even so the thing still works, the little plastic cover over the buttons is just peeling off.

The black plastic has a slight velvety texture, and the white parts are made of a soft plastic or silicon that gives slightly under pressure. The included storage case feels like velvet and has held up very well, a nice little accessory for those of you who want to keep things under wraps!

The only complaint I have is that inside of the battery compartment there are two slots which accept two AA batteries each. The positive and negative indicators are placed in between the two slots so it's impossible to tell what goes where! I learned by experimentation how to install the batteries and then scratched my own + and - into the plastic with a knife and I would highly recommend doing so, especially for those situations where you need to change the batteries in the heat of the moment.

Beyond that, just pick up a set of 4 rechargeable AAs and a charger and you'll be happy with your purchase for a long time to come!
