Blog postIf you'd said to me twelve years ago I'd be writing a short screenplay and winning an award, I would have laughed. Books and scripts are very different forms of expression and I never thought I'd have the confidence to attempt the latter. However, I decided to give it a try after getting inspiration from a writer who'd made the journey from books to TV when his Christmas story screenplay was produced.
I started with The Dusk Chronicles, and after researching format and using a free pr1 week ago Read more -

Blog postFor those of you familiar with my background, you know I was born in New York. When I was halfway between fourteen and fifteen, my dad moved us to California. The job opportunities for him were more lucrative, and being stationed there after the Korean War, he yearned to go back. He loved the groves of lemon and orange trees and the open land.
Unfortunately, the California my dad remembered no longer existed and when we arrived he was a bit shocked and saddened. However, he still love2 months ago Read more -

Blog postWith covid restrictions relaxing a bit, our town is once again slowly coming alive. Still adhering to the mask mandate for Las Vegas, the Coffee House Tours & Moi, are resuming our book signings.
I thought I'd share a few that are coming in February and March that I'll be doing with CHT and my individual signings. I'm also including CHT events I'm not participating with, but they'll feature a host of talented local authors.
I don't have posters for all of them yet, so tha3 months ago Read more -
Blog postThe picture above is not the house but is similar to my childhood memory.
Growing up in Floral Park, my BFF and I would often take long walks through the neighborhood. Sometimes with a destination in mind and other times, not so much. This was a good way to squelch boredom and feed our mutually inquisitive minds. Often creating short stories of fantasy and sometimes plain goofiness, there was one paranormal encounter we didn't have to spin, because this one was very real.

Blog postYesterday I took a much needed relax day. Curled up by the fire on my favorite chair, a blanket and Curie, my chihuahua & Yorkie little girl, cozy in my lap. I was in a Christmas movie mood so I decided to put on a Netflix film, 8 - Bit Christmas. An adorable story, I thoroughly enjoyed it. However, I wasn't prepared for the ending and it hit me hard.

Blog postOne of the questions I'm frequently asked about is the editing process. Working with an editor as a traditionally published author, there are deadlines to meet and that makes the process a bit different than self-publishing. After I parted ways with my previous publisher, and with the encouragement of my self-published friends, I decided to release a few of the older titles on my own. It was strange for me to not have someone setting a date for completion, but it also had the perk of less str5 months ago Read more

Blog postIt's no secret I come from an Italian background. Both sets of my great-grandparents came from Naples, and growing up there was a lot of Italian spoken amongst the family. When I was writing the Alex series, I wanted to hold on to that heritage and share it with you. Unfortunately, all of the family that was fluent in the language has since moved on, and my lessons ceased after I lost my Grandmother. Over the years I've still held onto the thought of one day picking up where she left off, but6 months ago Read more

Blog postThe celebration of the thinning veil between our world and the next has passed, but if you're anything like me, you hold onto the spirit of All Hallows Eve in your heart all year long.
Part of that celebration is a compilation of spooky & spine chilling short stories from the authors of Parliament House. This year I opted in, and I'm so happy I did. It gave me the idea of dabbling a little deeper into the possibility of how the relationship of Alex and Victor might end. I had a bl6 months ago Read more -

Blog postMy first memory of being connected with things other than the reality around me, was when I was five. We lived in an apartment community where everyone knew everyone. My best friend and I had made a pact, we'd wait for our parents to fall asleep and then we were going to run away. Apparently we were frustrated with the hierarchy and this seemed like a viable plan.

Blog postMany Americans will be celebrating this July 4th with a renewed appreciation of what it means to be able to get together with family and friends. Coming from a year that had most of us barricaded behind closed doors and sharing time with loved ones on the screen of our phones, iPads, and computers, the human touch had been sorely missed.
Now that we're slowly finding a new normal by which we can share visits, dining out, and other outings outside the confines of our homes, we are conn10 months ago Read more -

Blog postAs authors we are forever chasing that well known beast—reviews. A good review can elevate your books to a level that catches a reader's interest and a bad one can just as easily close the book before the first page is turned. However, as a reader, I like to compare. I don't take a 2.5 or 3 star review at face value. I peruse through all the posts and then come to my own conclusion on whether or not to buy the book.

Titles By Vicki-Ann Bush
High school is difficult enough, but when you're dead, it comes with an entirely different set of problems.
Ophelia is a fifteen-year-old spirit who found sanctuary in The Academy of Souls, a school for teen souls who haven't found their way to the next life. When the spirit of her younger sister, Haven, is kidnapped, Ophelia refuses to move on without her.
But searching for Haven isn't the only issue Ophelia is forced to face. Her soul still has a link to her former body, creating even more obstacles. To add to her already confusing afterlife, she finds herself mesmerized by a new student, a seventeen-year-old boy who is very much alive.
"The exceptional narration of Vicki-Ann Bush ties readers to the story with the promise of an unimaginable twist. And the sensitivity with which the plot presents the concerns of a transgender teenager is praiseworthy. Alex McKenna & The Geranium Deaths by Vicki-Ann Bush has just the right blend of paranormal activities, family love, complicated romance, and realistic characters." -Ankita Shukla for Readers' Favorite
