About Victoria M. Johnson
I knew by the time I was ten that I wanted to be a writer. I love telling stories and I'm happiest when creating new characters and new plots.
After several years of working in other professions, including ten years as an Air Force reserves medic and over ten years as a fundraiser, I was eager to write full time. Now I write fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and film scripts. In fiction, whether I'm writing a romance novel or a thriller, my goal is to entertain, enlighten and surprise my readers. In nonfiction, I write to inspire, inform and help others. In poetry and film, I seek to do all of the above.

All I Need to Know in Life I Learned From Romance Novels is the ultimate companion for romance novel loyalists. Johnson's lessons on love, culled from many years as a romance reader, are accompanied by quotes and examples from popular novels, along with words from the authors themselves on why they love what they do. These quotations and excerpts reinforce Johnson's intriguing observations. By examining common themes of romance novels, Johnson has found that truths on finding and keeping romance alive and well are hidden within the pages of these powerful stories.
Despite the common misconception held by nonreaders that all romance novels are pure fantasy, featuring a knight in shining armor who rides in on a white horse to save the helpless heroine, avid fans know that this couldn't be further from the truth. Today's romance heroes and heroines are strong, savvy people who--whether they were looking for it or not--find true love. And their trials and tribulations on the road to "happily ever after" aren't all that different from those of ordinary people. The heroes and heroines in romance novels may often learn the hard way, but this book offers romance readers valuable lessons from these tales. You'll discover how to apply the wisdom of romance novels in your own life.

Writing Techniques That Work!
When Victoria M. Johnson’s first novel finally sold to a New York publisher, she took some time to evaluate what made that story different than what she had written and submitted before. Were there specific techniques she had used for the first time? Could those techniques be taught to others?
She discovered that yes; she had applied elements that propelled the story to a new level. With The Last Techniques I learned Before Selling Fiction, readers can use these same techniques to enhance their stories and boost their chances of making a sale. Topics include...
Nurse Grace Sinclair arrives at La Clinica Pediatrica with a broken heart and a vow never to fall in love again. The temporary nursing assignment is exactly what she needs to escape her painful memories and to rejuvenate her spirit.
After a rocky introduction, Ryan considers Grace too beautiful to have altruistic motives for joining the remote clinic, and Grace believes he is like the doctors back home, demanding and self-centered. However, when disaster strikes the village, they soon realize they are equally committed to helping the community, and their close working relationship makes it impossible to ignore their attraction to one another.
When Ryan offers Grace a permanent assignment, her pain and fear stand in the way, and he wonders if he'll ever be able to convince Grace to risk her heart again.
