Victorinox is famous for the original Swiss Army Knife, created in 1897 in the small village of Ibach, Switzerland. Since that time, the company has become well-known in more than 100 countries for precision, quality, functionality and versatility. Stainless steel case, black dial, dual time subdial at the 6 o'clock position, stainless steel bracelet, deployant clasp with safety, Swiss quartz movement, water resistant to 330ft, Black unidirectional rotating bezel.
Master Cutler Karl Elsener opened a cutlery shop in Ibach, Switzerland in 1884. Seven years later, in 1891, Karl supplied the Swiss Army with its standard issue Soldier’s Knife. After the death of his mother in 1909, Karl Elsener introduced the brand name Victoria and the iconic Cross and Shield emblem is registered as a trademark. With the advent of stainless steel, Karl Elsener coined the company’s name, Victorinox, by combining his mother’s name with “inox”, an abbreviation of the French word for rust-resistant steel, “inoxydable”. After World War II, the “Original Swiss Army Knife” began its successful progression around the world and enjoyed exceptional popularity. In 1989, Victorinox entered the timepiece business in the United States under the brand name “Swiss Army”. Ten years later, Victorinox joined the Travel Gear market, partnering with TRG Group in St. Louis. And in 2001, Victorinox fashion was introduced in the US to further capture the brand’s essence of practical luxury. In 2002, in order to promote global unity, the Victorinox Swiss Army timepiece brand was launched internationally. In 2007, Victorinox set up Victorinox Swiss Army Fragrance AG, and in 2009 Victorinox Swiss Unlimited was launched. 2014 marks Victorinox Swiss Army’s 130th anniversary, and each Victorinox Swiss Army product embodies the spirit of the Legendary Original Swiss Army Knife, a universal symbol of Functionality, Innovation, Quality and Iconic Design.
Our Victorinox Swiss Army timepieces are designed to optimize their usefulness. Functionality ranges from easy-to-read dial designs to sophisticated professional functions. I have small wrists and I took it to a local Victorinox authorized dealer where the watch was inspected and the serial number checked. They even seized the watch at no charge.
The watch is slightly heavy but it is expected for its size. The pictures do not honor the features of the watch. The set up is easy and intuitive. The crown does not screw down but when I asked in the dealer, I was told that the water resistance was excellent.
Accuracy is excellent when I compare it with other quartz watches and the second time window seems to be perfectly synchronized with the first time window.
I am satisfied with the watch and I think it is a keeper.
Very satisfied with the purchase and the seller
Pros: high quality watch, beautiful brush metal, not too shiney, seems tough. Swiss made for very low price, I am a tall guy and I did not think the watch was too big.
Cons: too heavy, by the end of the day I feel like I have a chain on my wrist that I want to take off. Could be a little more thin and compact. Shiney numbers on dail can be hard to read if reflecting on something dark.

i found a date is not lined up.. see added photo. there is "18" in the date windows. and "8" is slightly above compare to "1". all single date numbers are same..maybe it's not a big flaw but it's a little annoying at my eyes. so i minus one more star..
when I first received it I was surprised at how big it was. Other reviewers had said it was big, but I was still surprised. But, it doesn't feel heavy or bulky on my wrist. It feels comfortable.
It looks good, without being overstated and, I suppose most importantly, it keeps good time, but you would expect that from a Swiss watch.
I would definitely look at buying another Victorinox watch again, but hopefully this one will last and that will be a long time in the future.
I bought the Victorinox Swiss Army Maverick men's watch on Amazon in March, so I've had it for 6 months. I love it. Great watch, great price. It looks expensive. It is big and heavy. I like this as well, because I am too. This is a full size MAN watch, big dial, sturdy steel band, and it keeps great time, unlike a Rolex or any watch that has perpetual movement.
The Swiss Army Maverick is not so large that it looks like a fashion watch that may be worn by a teenager working at a mall kiosk, hip hop artist, actor or extra from any of the Tokyo Drift movies, you get the point. It is still traditional in appearance.
The name, "Maverick" recalls an American motion picture masterpiece, Top Gun. I am golf clapping the marketers at Victorinox for this obviously intentional elegant homage to a movie made for men. The irony is not lost.
A great gift for the man in your life or Dad. Not cheap, but it won't break the bank. He will love it. Unless he is really small or skinny. Then it may make him feel tiny.
