Great daily keychain multi tool.

This is a great everyday keychain knife. It has the knife blade, scissors, nailfile/screwdriver of the Victorinox Classic. The tweezers and toothpick in the scales have been replaced with an LED light and a small pen. This does make it slightly thicker overall than the normal Classic. I personally find the light and pen more useful on an everyday basis than the tweezers or toothpick. (I've only used the Victorinox tweezers while camping, and I bring a larger model for outdoors activity. I don't think I've ever used the toothpick for anything.)

The light battery is easy to install and replace, and so is the pen. Neither tool is ideal for long-term use, but both are perfect to have on my keychain to get me out of a jam. I opted for the Silver Tech color, to differentiate from my red Victorinox Classics. I like the color a lot, very techno.

I'd love to see these features included on the Victorinox Jetsetter for air travel.

Wonderful knife - but no instructions.

I've had several other knives like this, and love it. Its on my key chain (except when flying). But - no instructions. The battery comes separate from the knife. I had to stare quite awhile to figure out there was a very small hole in the casing. What to do? Pry the casing open? I finally googled to find out that you're supposed to put in a paper clip to force a hidden door on the other side of the hole open and you have the place to put your battery. NOT OBVIOUS. Otherwise I've had knives like this for years, and would've given 5 stars if I didn't have to figure this out. Been so long I can't remember if I had to figure this out before. Please put instructions or pointers to them in the boxes.

When I first got this, I would forget I had it. I wear it on a string around my neck, and it is super handy. I teach clinical classes all over the campus of a hospital, and sometimes I forget to bring a pen. This is no longer an issue. You wouldn't want to write a novel with it but for taking notes or signing out some equipment, it works just fine. The pen writes smoothly with no smudging. The flashlight isn't particularly impressive but provides slightly more light than a note 5 screen on full brightness setting when shined across my dark living room. I've had it for close to a year and use the light occasionally and it is still bright. The sharp little knife, screwdriver/file (protip: the little screwdriver tip is tapered and will work on flatheads and Phillips screws) and scissors are the same quality as on the small SAK with the tweezers and toothpick. It doesn't do any one job as well as any of its full-size counterparts, but it is literally smaller than my pinkie. Everything I own is valuable to me and I baby my things. If you abuse this tool, it will fail. If you are a reasonable person and use this good tool with consideration of its limitations, it will most likely serve you well.

Having been a fan all my life of Victorinox, these products are so friggin appealing that you almost need to get one for each of your excursions. Electronic geek fest, there is a knife for that. Urban Survial, yep its covered. Woodworking...with phillip and standard screwdriver tips. So I'm very biased and with due reason. My first Swiss Army knife was a Wenger, which IMHO was fine, but then my passions moved from mechanical to more day to day. And whether its helping open a box from Amazon or oyster, you realize the prize inside is just a good reason to put into good use your HYPE knife. People always step back and give nod of respect. Which it earns. They just feel better in my hands, so again biased.

Small and useful, though perhaps overpriced

This is overpriced for such a small, and by comparison to other Victorinox knives, less durable feeling item. I own full size Swiss Army knives with greater utility that have been cheaper.

Now, that said, knowing the price, I still bought it, and I don’t regret it. I’ve clipped it to my keychain to replace a much clunkier multitool I had, so I already feel more comfortable with my keys in my pocket. And I think the light and pen will come to be handier than the toothpick and tweezers they replaced. In all, a fine product. I’ve never been dissatisfied with Victorinox. Looking forward to many years of usefulness.

Great little keychain knife.

This is a good knife. I've owned one just like it for a long time. I bought this one when my other one had a blade that started getting dull. However, the pen still functioned as well as the light (after many years). The one issue I had with this one was putting the battery in. It did not want to go due to the metal piece, that sits on the battery once installed, that was causing blockage and preventing the battery from being fully seated. To overcome this, I threaded a piece of string through the knife (through the hole on both sides) and used it as a guide to get the metal piece out of the way so the battery would not catch on it and it would slide in nicely. It worked! Now, it's just as good as my other knife. I use it about once a day (especially the scissors).

For $20ish, I am extremely impressed with this little knife. The pen comes in extremely handy for anyone who is in a professional setting, the knife is very usable for opening packages, letters, very basic food prep. I've pulled a few splinters out using the tweezers out already and to come probably. I keep it in the little change pocket in my jeans and half the time I have to remember it's there. If you put it on a keychain, it would be excellent for finding a lock, checking stains on cloths in the car, finding that random thing you dropped in the dark. You get victorinox quality in a very economical price point.

Pros:
*Lightweight
*Usable tools for the size
*Very nice pen
*Bright enough light for minimal tasks
*Good package opening blade
*Very usable file
*A ton of uses for something this small

Cons:
*Very tiny scissors make it time consuming for cutting papers
*Somewhat easy to lose

I can't say enough good things about this multitool. This is the second one I've owned, and will probably purchase some as gifts in the future. Highly recommend if you have realistic expectations for a tool this size.
