This bike has what is expected for the price point. If the bike hasn't been assembled correctly or given a proper tuneup it can be a pain to ride. Problems I experienced included disc-on-rotor brake rub, misaligned handlebars, non-indexed derailleurs, no fork compression, and over-tightened rear suspension pivots just to name some of the problems.

BRAKES:
The brakes were a problem for a quite a few months after I got the bike as the rotors were hard to align since they are mounted with a spring at each adjustment point. I had to twist the barrels on the brake levers all the way in, adjust the cable anchor point at the caliper, and adjust the position many time before they stopped rubbing. While trying to make a caliper that was easy to adjust, a LOT of stopping power and responsiveness was lost. First off, if I hold the brake tight and push the bike back and forth, the caliper will move back and forth with the rotor about a half inch either direction. This creates a very mushy feeling in the brakes and lessens the performance of the brake when trying to stop quickly since the caliper moves in and out when coming in contact with the rotor and twists forward before reaching a point where they will start to slow you down. The spring-loaded design also causes the calipers to twists when trying to clamp onto the rotor which causes resistance to braking and only partial surface contact between the pads and rotor and also makes the brake pads wear unevenly. I swapped in a front caliper from another bike and immediately noticed a difference in my stopping power, feel, and performance that I just couldn't get with the original caliper mainly due to the very solid mounting of the replacement caliper and adjustment of the pad spacing separate from the cable anchor.

It is on the cheap side but will get you where you need to be going. Great for beginner mountain bikers or for someone who just wants to ride around. I bought mine nearly 1 1/2 years ago and it is in my garage all beat up and I gotta say it was worth all I got out of it.

smooth ride, good pedals, weight good, parts ok. for the price though, it is horrible. cheap wheels, tires not very aggressive, this bike was delivered with a front bent wheel and axle, i would reccommend a set of new wheels anyways, the wheels that it comes with are very poor.

I got this bike from Sam's Club to replace an ailing Next bike I had got about 8 years ago so far this bike has preformed great it was easy to assemble everything needed to assemble it was in the box except for the phillips screwdriver to mount the reflectors the packing was ok but not ideal nothing was damaged in the box. The only problem I had is the back brake is a little too loose that was the only adjustment needed to the factory mounted hardware although the front derailer may need some minor tweaking because its making some noise sometimes.

Assembly was simple put handlebars on put seat on post and post in the mount put the front tire on and put the pedals on it was road ready in about 30 minutes working alone cut that in half if you have someone helping you.

The ride is smooth very nice although the speeds are odd to me but that may just because I haven't really biked in a long time, shifting is very fast with the trigger shifters and smooth. Braking is very fast with dual discs and they are easy to lock up so if you are new to dual discs be very careful with them.

All in all this seems to be a very good bike out of the more reasonably priced brands with quality brakes shifting and mechanical equipment.

Owner's Notes:
Assembly was brilliant and incredibly neat. Gears shift easily and without fuss. Front and rear disc control handles quite well. A light frame moves the body easily. Tires propel without slippage in wet conditions.

Artist Notes: Replaced original seat with something much more comfortable. Calibrated absorption to optimized levels.

Rider Notes: Acceleration was adequate, although cruising speed must be raised to a more suitable standard of parsec "momentum."

Personal Notes: It has "character."
