I love this Zune. As a fan of Joy Division and their descendant New Order, I couldn't wait to buy it when it was released. While I have a low numbered unit (#35) I paid over $350 for it from the Zune Store thinking, incorrectly, that with only 500 units world wide they would sell out quickly. Now nearly 7 months later it looks like Microsoft sold their remaining stock to Amazon to unload. Oh well, it is a fine device and the presentation is awesome; the photos do not do it justice. Another bonus is this version is the only way to get an all black Zune. The other models have a stainless steel back. Not a big deal, but it does make it look better.

Boy am I late to the Zune game! It's now 2016 and I have finally after all these years acquired the limited edition Joy Division Zune. I have wanted one in excellent condition since 2011 and finally picked one up for $200 exactly. The box is a bound cloth and sturdy cardboard combination and is all black with the Unknown Pleasures symbol lightly embossed. Inside you'll find a sync cable, a beautiful leather carry case, the Zune and some documentation. Oh also some headphones DUH! It's everything I hoped it would be and more!

I needed a stand alone music player for my car and something to copy the hundreds of CDs from my local library to. Sound quality is amazing and if you are an avid Joy Division fan as I am then track one of these down! Mine is #300-500 and it's awesome.

If you need a really great screen protector in 2016 for this model of Zune be sure to contact Zagg as they can still cut one for you. You definitely won't find a good quality screen protector for purchase anymore since the Zune was discontinued other than with Zagg. I also recommend finding one of the Zune brand leather cases if you can still find one.

Peace!

Good media player. The screen doesn't scratch, reasonably sized, the squircle touch pad thing is nice. This particular item came in a very nice box and came with a nice leather case too. The premium earbuds are cool looking and sound good unless you move around.. the cloth cord channels a lot of feedback into your ears when it rubs against anything. But I have other earbuds and headphones so its cool. Yup.

I looked at every MP3 player out there. My choice came to a samsung P2 (awesome player, less memory) and a zune. I wanted a big screen to TV series I ripped onto my computer, and I also heard bad things about the ipod touch and condensation issues, plus it's overpriced and i don't care that it has wifi and internet and all the other stuff, just wanted to listen to MP3s and watch shows while i work out.

Review:
The Zune is awesome, I'm completely satisfied. The FM radio works great, it holds audiobooks and marks your place in them, it has an effective way of managing and sorting your music by genre, playlist, artist, album, song, and the touch wheel is very useful in navigating your huge collection. I like it because it is a button that you press and get tactile feedback from, unlike the touchscreen on the ipod touch. The screen looks very nice and is big. Widescreen tv shows come up smaller and with black bars on the top and bottom, but oh well.

Zune software: I'm also very happy with it. easy to go through, pick out video podcasts to watch later, keeps track of what you play and offers recommendations. The best part: $15/mo gives you 10 song credits to download MP3s and keep them, DRM free, PLUS gives you unlimited downloads of all the music on the Zune marketplace. This is by far the best subscription service out there.

Chief complaints: no equalizer, so you have to find a good set of headphones. it came with the high quality zune ear buds, which have absolutely no bass and fit nice but you can hear the cord bouncing around. also, the battery life while watching videos isn't as long as advertised.

I'd recommend it over any ipod (my wife has one that i compared it to). I'd buy it again.
