My tastes in music are eclectic. And this is one of my all-time favorite recordings.

This recording is very pretty!!! Robert McDuffie performances and sound are simply wonderful!!! ...very Romantic music. Lehar, Kreisler and Strauss gives us a really beautiful music. The orchestrations are magnific and the Cincinnati Pops conducted by Erich Kunzel simply excellent. All pieces are wonderful. A great cd!!!

Classic CD magazine gave this CD one star and I really don't understand why. Admittedly the reviewer's credentials are better than mine, but I really enjoyed this disc. I have several versions of "Vienna, City of My Dreams" both vocal and instrumental, in my collection and it's interesting to compare interpretations. The Kreisler piece "Tambourin Chinois" will never be my favorite, no matter who plays it. This is a Telarc disc and their CD's are generally very well done. To sum up, I like Erich Kunzel and I like the selections from the Viennese Romantic repetoire.

ROMANTIC CLASSICS YOU WILL ALWAYS REMEMBERReviewed in the United Kingdom on December 28, 2016
Very good collection of classical music by Franz Lehar, Frittz Kreisler, Johann Strauss, Jr and Rudolf Sieczynski. Most of them are my favourites which I have heard since I was a child. Robert McDuffie with Erich Kunzel, Cincinnati Pops Orchestra played very well the whole repertoire which are delightful to listen to in keeping with the original arrangement.
