"Bradley pens another incredible tale of Vikings and Valkyries. This amazing story is filled with action and passion from the first page until the last. Another great entry from Bradley! 4.5 Stars, Top Pick!" - RT Book Reviews
"[A] highly entertaining paranormal Viking Warriors series... The romance is sizzling, the battle scenes top-notch, and the characters intriguing. Bradley provides sufficient background for those new to the series, although the story is compelling enough to send them to the first book while waiting for the next in the series." - Booklist

So I really do kind of love Astrid. Astrid is a warrior in every sense of the word, and when the book starts she is sent on a mission to go pick someone up. It shouldn't be too big of a deal, so she's sent by herself. It's clear from the beginning that Astrid doesn't think all that highly of herself. She wants to prove to everyone that she is worthy, but no one doubts her like she doubts herself. I will admit she occasionally makes some decisions that she really shouldn't have because she doesn't want to be seen as weak or like she can't do the job own her own. But regardless of her self doubt, she really is kind of awesome. I loved the scenes where she is kicking butt and taking names, she even figures out how to make big strides in a battle that no one else was able to do. What isn't to love about her?
Luke is on a mission to avenge his brothers death. He has a lot of the pieces but no idea how to put them together. All he knows is that Astrid (his previous one night stand) has something to do with everything, or at the very least can lead him to the people he is looking for. As a cop he has tried to do everything he can to track Astrid, but it just isn't working, so he shows up in her path and then convinces her that he can help her. I liked Luke, I liked him a lot. I understood his reasons for why he was doing what he was doing. But at the same time he's holding back a lot of the truth from Astrid, and after they start having real feelings for each other, he had to know it was all going to blow up on him.
The romance was really well written, don't get me wrong, the chemistry was awesome and there are some seriously hot scenes between the two of them. But the book worked so much for me because of the plot. What is going on with the wolverine labs, who is involved, the dynamic between Astrid's battle brothers and sisters. All the elements just worked together to create exactly the kind of book I wanted to get lost in. I look forward to seeing what happens next in this series, and I especially want to know what is going to happen with Ulf.
Viking Warrior Rebel is the second book in the series and follows the event that happened in the first book. Astrid and Luke both had one unforgettable one night stand, both are keeping secret identities and now they meet again. This time around they need to start trusting each other to complete their individual mission.
This book is more action/suspense than romance but it doesn't take away from how engaging and entertaining it is. Granted, its a foregone conclusion that Astrid and Luke are going to end up together, its the mystery and action packed sequence that keeps readers turning the pages. Viking Warrior Rebel will just keep readers coming back for more.
Astrid is a kick-ass Valkyrie that doesn’t take sh*t from anyone. She is a warrior through and through. Tough as nails, fiercely loyal and can fight as good—if not better—than any man. So when her thoughts and her heart get tangled up over the sexy night club owner Luke, this warrior—and her berserker—just don’t know how to handle these new feelings.
I loved the story. Astrid is a tough warrior but I loved watching her vulnerable and uncertain, especially around Luke. I thought the pair had great chemistry together. The storyline was engaging and I couldn’t put the book down! Subterfuge, danger and betrayal are just a few of the things in store for readers!
The Viking Warriors series is not just about romance and fighting enemies. It’s also about becoming one with the berserker within. Each immortal has an inner warrior soul referred to as a berserker. When in battle, the warrior can channel their berserker giving them more strength, speed and often times an uncontrollable rage. That’s why it’s important for the warriors to find an equilibrium with their berserker so they don’t end up losing complete control. Pretty awesome, huh?
What’s really powerful about the book is the mythology surrounding Vikings and the Norse gods Odin, Freya and Loki. The language, weapons and traditions really anchor the story. It is a delight to read! Ms. Bradley brilliantly balances the new world with the old ways of the Norsemen…and I am thoroughly enchanted!
VIKING WARRIOR REBEL has everything a great romance needs and so much more! I highly recommend the series to everyone!
