Saw these guys open for Paramore and Fall Out Boy. Have been into them since. But this album is nowhere near as good as the last two albums. Can't think of any songs off the top of my head that are memorable. If you're a fan, you'll get it anyway. But others should definitely get Bad Girl in Harlem or New Politics --- those are much, much better.

I purchased "A Bad Girl in Harlem" when it was released and fell in love with all of the songs. When I first heard "everywhere I go" and "west end kids" on the radio, I knew I was going to love the next cd. their music is definitely progressing and getting better with each cd. they have such unique lyrics and a great sound. I've had this cd in my car, since it arrived and have been listening to it almost everyday.

If you're ever looking for a good show to see then you need to check these guys out. Funnest live band I've ever seen. This album is great as well, I listen to it straight through and enjoy every track.

It's an album full of energy and tunes that are fairly catchy right away. "Lovers in a Song" and "15 Dreams" are particularly catchy and danceable. The sound is good, not overly loud like so many albums are mixed recently. But lyrically... there are a few songs that are a little cringe-worthy at times with lines that are just a little too cheesy about things like "don't kill my vibe" and "we had sex" and there's some sexy girl that likes me cuz I'm in a band and she thinks I'm famous. some of that gets old quick.

But there are enough single worthy tunes here to warrant a listen from a lot of people. It's just a bit lacking in terms of being a fully consistent album. Considering the standards that FOB and Panic! set for DCD2, I guess I expected a bit more of a total package.

When it's good, it sounds good in concert or on the dancefloor.

After loving every song on their first two albums, I'm disappointed that I don't feel the same way about this one. It has a few pretty good tracks, especially Everywhere I Go, but ultimately falls short of their previous work. I want to like Vikings so bad after enjoying the first two albums so much, but I'm not feeling this new style at all. The songs feel too "poppy" compared to their older music. Not a bad album, just not for me I guess.

I had huge expectations for this album. I am probably about twice the age of their average fan, but I am devoted. I traveled thousands of miles to see New Politics live and have tested my endurance waiting in the sea of twenty-something year olds in front of the stage on multiple occasions. As the first few songs trickled out over the last few months, I wasn't thrilled. "Everywhere I Go (Kings and Queens)", "West End Kids," and "Girl Crush" are delightful, pop-punk, energetic pieces with slightly enigmatic lyrics that fit the usual New Politics fare, but they didn't make me swoon or want to spend hours jumping up and down at the stage hoping that David Boyd would choose to stand on my side of the audience this time.

HOWEVER, this album, as a whole, is amazing! There are lyrics filled with romantic wordplay, powerful rhythms, that sense of humor that pervades their music, and fantastic, energetic melodies. The sound is fresh and edgy, differing from their earlier albums enough that it feels new, but the influences and overall unique character of New Politics shines throughout each song. The cynical, jaded person I am had low expectations because what band puts out three albums which can all be my favorites? New Politics has done it.

Excellent post-punk & indie! Even though it should have a parental advisory for strong language! Eleven jammin' tracks with two silly, hidden bonus tracks! Thanx!

I got to see New Politics preform at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and I fell in love with their music. Their album Vikings is amazing, I just love their music.
