I had already read some 'real reviews'not the ONE review wonders that everyone should beware of..
So I knew it wasn't going to be as visually violent as other torture porn entries.
I do wish there had been some detailed effects because if there would have been real gore and more effects I would have given this 5 stars. The acting was good as was the premise even though we have seen so many of these types of movies where a group of people are locked in a room and they have to do terrible things to one another to survive and either the inner beast or the good of heart are released for all to see.
This one had it's own flavor and was more clever than quite a few of the others I have seen.
It was brutal and violent , I'm not saying it wasn't,what I am saying is that if they had a bigger budget it could have been off the charts awesome. That being said sometimes what you don't see can be more horrifying than what you do.
There were a couple of (that could never happen moments)example"carrying someone after you have had your collarbone busted in to a million pieces".I will give that a pass because Iv'e seen many more ridiculous scenarios than that in other horror films and loved them.If being burned then having bleach poured on your burns, brutal tooth extraction or having your fingernails pulled out with pliers freaks you out by all means watch it or not.
There was a twist I never saw coming and a very satisfying ending.I was very impressed especially after writer and executive producer Rob Kowsaluk wrote in my Amazon review comments that they were working with a shoestring budget.
The "culprit" was certainly a surprise at the end, although thinking back on it I guess it shouldn't have been. There will be many who will say that this is a direct rip off of Saw and you would probably be right. But if you enjoyed the Saw movies before they started to get old and predictable I think you'll enjoy this movie. At an hour and a half it's not too long. It does start out slow for those of you that like to get right into the gore but once it finds its "groove" the movie progresses quite nicely.
One last point: As to the gore, the writers didn't just throw in gratuitous shots of it just because they could. This movie has equal parts character development and gore and it strikes a nice balance between them.
Some people here mentioned about the music, to be honest I didn't really pay much attention to the music and if you ask me it wasn't out of place. I wouldn't want rock and roll through the whole movie cause it would ruin the flow and for this being such a low-budget movie rock and roll would've made this movie corny and it wouldn't have the same feel. I love the plot, love the characters, love the back story...I just loved this movie overall. The ending PRICELESS! I was sad at certain parts. I guess I loved the build up of characters, they did a great job in that department, made you feel for what happens to them (Except for one lol)
Overall, I was delighted.

There are a lot of vile movies, but this one is more listless mediocrity than vile. You might as well watch vile little boys fry ants on the pavement with their magnifying glasses. Read morePublished 14 months ago by hugh parker

Very sick & sadistic will make you squirm. Acting is not that great but hey it's a low budget film but that aside the plot was original & the killer was unexpected. Read morePublished 18 months ago by Jenelle Jones
