Inadequate for ability to send audio to my existing audio system

I wanted an audio extractor for a specific purpose: I wanted to send audio to my existing home theater system that is older and only has analog (RCA) inputs. I wanted it to use the ARC audio return channel from my new TCL 65R625 TV with Roku built in to send audio to the extractor to send analog audio to my existing home theater but have the volume controlled by the TV as is supposed to be possible with the ARC.

Here's what the problems were:
1) No audio came out of the RCA audio output jacks on the extractor. I tried different settings on the digital audio sent out by the TV (and different switch settings on the extractor) but no audio ever came out of the extractor. Out of curiosity, I tried the optical output of the extractor. The audio came out, but only intermittently. Very annoying.
2) When the ARC control on the extractor was on, it "stopped" the audio coming out of the TV speakers as expected, but instead of the ability to control volume with the TV, the TV volume (as indicated on the TV on-screen display) was locked at 16. That level indicated would not go up or go down.
So my search for the right product continues.

Tied For The Most I Ever Got For My Money!

I have a desktop in a huge case, that I've had forever. I have a DTV tuner. I have a Raspberry Pi 4B. I have a Denon amp and some really nice speakers. A really nice 27 inch monitor, too. So, the first thing I got was a 3-way HDMI switcher, right after I got the Pi. Yea, that's fine, but who wants to switch the video and then reach over and switch the input on the amp too? Right in the middle of looking something up in a YouTube video so I can remember it and type it into the terminal emulator on the Pi? So I got this thing. I've never been more pleasantly surprised! This thing is flawless! I've got those three devices connected to the input of the 3-way switcher. I've got the output of the switcher connected to the input of this thing. I've got the (video) output of this thing connected to the monitor. And I've got the RCA left and right channel *audio) connectors connected to the "Video" sound inputs on the Denon. Voila! Switch that switcher and the sound follows! Works flawlessly! The lights on the front of this thing are perfect. First, they're on the front. I can't say the same about the HDMI switcher. They're on the top and they're recessed, so they're impossible to see without hovering over the thing. The lights on this audio extractor are the opposite! They can be seen from any angle in front of the unit. They protrude from the front. The red one for power, a green one for input, and a green one for output. They're bight, they're dark red and dark green, they're pinpoint. The whole unit looks like pro gear. The green output goes out when one turns off the monitor. They both go off when one reboots and then come back on again. A USB power cable is included and a very small wall adapter - 5 volts, 1 amp - which I haven't even used yet, is also included. The sound quality and picture quality are superb. Perfect. I haven't used a screen beyond 2560X1440, but the specs are great, too. I'm a hundred percent confident it will do exactly what the specs say. This is a really well-engineered and built unit for next to nothing. Couldn't be happier about this purchase.

I truly love this device. It seemed to be everything I was looking for in my game console and HTPC set-up. So I'm not one for hyperbole, but... boy this Dragang (oy.. the names...) leaves very little on the table in terms of features. In short,I love it.

Let's look at what we have here:

1.) it's a metal box with enough heft to stay in place fairly easily without needing to be taped down like other devices I've used in the past. Rubber feet are conspicuously missing, but it's really just fine without them. It may look a little retro to some (like an early 00's Ethernet switch), but I prefer the look of simple functional metal rectangles to a lot of the more modern plastic devices.

2.) 5-port HDMI switch, that supports 4K/60 HDR10, Dolby Vision, 4:4:4 chroma etc. My Apple TV 4K loves this, that's for sure. No issues.

3.) Gaming console? This has you covered. No problems with my PS4 Pro or XBOX One X, connected to my 2017 LG OLED (actually, through a Sony HT-ST5000 soundbar).

And here's the big one:

4.) While this does AUTO-switch, it also has FULL manual switching. Yep, nothing more annoying that a device waking from sleep and auto-switching the HDMI input (my Apple TV does this). Although the manual does not state it, HOLD the "Switch" button down for around 5 seconds - the light will blink four times, and BAM - no more auto-switching. Why else is this good? Well....

5.) No issue with using my Logitech Harmony Elite remote to switch inputs! This means I can have the TV turn on, my soundbar turn on, and the HDMI switch move to the correct input without any auto-switching getting in the way. Fully manually controlled by me = WIN. You can teach the IR commands of each HDMI input from the original switch remote without any problems.

So, overall, - this is a great HDMI switch. It has dealt with everything I've thrown at it. Also, if you look closely at a lot of these HDMI switches on the market, they look SUSPICIOUSLY similar. Heck, even the power supply with this Dragang was the exact same brand as the one that came with my SwitchDeck, 4K HDMI 2.0 Switch by Sewell, 3x1 Distribution Amplifier, 4K at 60Hz, 3D, HDCP 2.2, 4:4:4 Chroma. That one does not have full-manual switching, though.

Overall, an easy 5 stars out of 5. Top notch.
