I've had moderate to severe dandruff for several years, and have never been able to get rid of it for any significant period of time no matter what product I was using. I decided to try this stuff along with the shampoo and conditioner made by the same company, and literally three days later I have absolutely no dandruff! It's pretty amazing. This rinse smells like vinegar, obviously, but not like straight vinegar from the bottle. It doesn't seem to really leave a lingering smell on your hair, either. I wouldn't care if it did. It works. No more constantly brushing off my shoulders!

I've had dandruff for as long as I can remember. I discovered that anti-dandruff shampoo worked on the dandruff but was horrible for my hair. So I used regular shampoo that worked on my hair, but left me flaky and itchy. But then, within the last year, my dandruff got WORSE and I suddenly found myself in a hurry to find something good for my hair AND my scalp.

This Vinegar Rinse is great! First, it got rid of my bacteria/fungus based dandruff. No more flakes. No more itchiness. It says to use it every 15 days, but if you've got some bad dandruff (like I did) I recommend using it as many times as you need to get rid of the stuff. (I wash my hair twice a week and for the first month I used this rinse every time I washed my hair.)

Second, it makes your hair look REALLY good and feel wonderful. I use it more often than the instructions say just because of what it does to my hair. It's like a shampoo/conditioner booster. However good your regular shampoo and conditioner is currently, it will work 30x-50x better with this stuff. Wow! My hair just look great: shinier, softer, and easier to manage.

Now the downside? It does have a strong smell, like vinegar. It needs to soak for about 3 minutes, and that means the smell will "cling" to your hair, even after you've properly rinsed and dried. Now the vinegar is an apple cider base so it's not terrible, but some (like maybe a pregnant woman who's got a nose on over drive) might not be able to tolerate it. I do, because I like not being itchy and having gorgeous hair. ;)

The other thing is the price. If you use it every 15 days and your hair is about shoulder length or shorter, this won't be TOO expensive. It'll last a while. It only becomes prohibitively expensive when you've got a lot of hair and/or use it more frequently than directed.

Overall, great product. HIGHLY recommended! :)

I bought this vinegar rinse after about a year of having dandruff, so I'm by no means a dandruff expert. I also don't think my dandruff is really bad--I would say it's moderate. I chose this rinse because I had used Head and Shoulders before, and though it worked really well for me, I was hoping to find something a little more natural. I've been using this for about 2 months, and I wanted to write about what worked best for me, because using it as directed wasn't the best method for me.

How often to use it:
I read reviews that said after 3 or 4 uses your dandruff would be totally gone. However, I wasn't sure if they were using it every day or every 2 weeks (as directed). When I first used this, I waited 2 weeks in between uses, and after 3 uses my dandruff was mostly gone (after the first 2 uses my head would be itchy again after about a week). About 10 days after the 3rd use, my head was itchy again, so I went ahead and used the vinegar rinse. It made my head feel so much better, so now I use it every week and a half or so, or whenever my scalp starts to feel itchy. At first I was afraid that using it too often would be harmful, but it isn't. Definitely use it as often as you need to. I think 15 days, like it says on the bottle, is just a suggestion. [Maybe this is obvious, but I didn't want to use it more than necessary because it was so expensive!]

How much to use:
I have really thick hair that falls a little past my shoulders. I wasn't using too much at first, which might be part of the reason why it didn't work as well in the beginning. Now I use at least 3 or 4 big squeezes just to cover my scalp, and another squeeze or two to run a little through the rest of my hair.

I've had dandruff forever and have used all types of products, from the obvious Head & Shoulders to the old school T-gel. Nothing has had such a tremendous, initially positive result as this product.
PROS: IT WORKS! Enough said. After just one use, you'll be able to tell.
CONS: Yes, it does smell; however, it's really not that bad and only lasts a couple hours. Honestly, this wasn't even a con.

I have used many different products and methods to treat my dandruff, but this one has stopped that journey. I use it every pay-day (15th and 30th of every month) just to make it easy to remember. It doesn't get rid of your dandruff problem, but it does stop it until the time when you need to re-apply again. As long as you follow the directions, you'll be good. After applying it to my scalp, I would have flakes falling for the next few days after. But these flakes aren't the typical dandruff (oily and thick). The flakes fall off like old scabs from your wounds. And then your scalp will feel like it never had dandruff for the rest of those days.

The only thing I don't like about it is the vinegar smell that lingers after your apply it. The smell will linger until the next time you shower again. No biggie. Just do it on days you're not expecting company ;)
