From the manufacturer
The Eclipse's sturdy Target Tested Tough nylon segment construction is engineered to keep your dartboard in top-notch condition for years of play. A large catch ring surrounds the target face creating a 360 degree landing zone for any missed shots, protecting your walls from damage. The board's ultra-thin spider allows for tighter shot groupings and a larger surface area, increasing the ratio of landed shots and greatly reducing bounce-outs. Both sides of the Eclipse are equipped with dart holsters that store and display up to 4 sets of darts, 12 in total. Keep them on display and safe from harm as you admire your collection.

This board isn't quite as solid as I would have liked it but it feels sturdy enough and I imagine that making it more solid would have greatly increased the weight of the board. The main thing I was looking for was that the darts that I own which are all around 18 grams, would stick nicely in the board which so far they do. The panels are not too lose and it takes a firm press to activate scoring through them. They hold the darts nice and securely as well as the catch ring on the outer edge of the board.
The board features your usual selection of games and options. I should note that it does support double in/double out because even though I thought that would be standard, I have found a board that didn't have it. It has all the cricket and 01 versions you would expect as well as games like football, baseball, and golf(a game I was looking for in a board) among many other games. I am very satisfied with the options for games, sound, players, etc...
While I was looking for the Viper Solar Blast initially because I liked the bigger and more plentiful displays, the displays on this board serve their purpose well. They are all easy to read and the cricket score board on the top rotates through up to 8 players. It is easy to read your scores and the board will give suggestions on which areas to target for your next shot. I am pleasantly delighted by the display and don't know that paying more for the Solar Blast would have been necessary or money well spent.
There are a few extra small things that this board features such as the dart holders for 4 sets of darts and a pull out tray for extra tips or flights on the bottom below the 3. These features are nice extras but almost seem to make the board feel cheap. The dart holders function well and are a nice touch but I noticed that certain times I was throwing, I would shake out the lowest dart on the bottom left holder of the board. The slide in tray feels very cheap and rattles its way open through the course of play. I haven't put any extra parts in there because I think they would just add a rattling sound and I personally don't need to keep my parts in there. If they padded the tray which I plan to do on my own and made it smoother and better built I would think its a great feature, but as is, I would have preferred to possibly pay less for both of these features removed.
I have two points of contention with the board and they are both fairly minor considering what I really wanted from the board. The first point is the mounting hardware(screws and dry wall mounts) didn't work as easy as they should have. I ended up not using the dry wall mounts at all as they seemed cheap and not very functional compared to other mounts I ended up using after the ones provided proved to be sub-par. There was no template for easy mounting and the process takes two people. Overall it got mounted well in the end despite the issues so this is a minor issue in the end but I might suggest using your own better dry wall mounts.
My final point and probably another minor one is the price. The price is a little steep but considering everything that was done right with this board I suppose it is justified. Especially considering the other cheaper boards I have tried, this board does a lot well and it is very functional and fun to use. I think if this board was around $115 that might be a fairer price but I do still think it is worth the money.
If I had to add some features to this board, I wouldn't mind having the option to use batteries as well as connecting another bigger display to show more players scores and cricket standings.
If you're looking for a good 15.5inch electronic dart board, this is really an easy recommendation from me. I will update my review should I find anything out about it that I like or dislike and adjust the rating accordingly. If you have any questions I will try to answer them as soon as I can.
PS. like other boards, the included darts are rubbish and I would recommend having a good set to play with.
The sound / speaker is quite loud as other reviewers may have mentioned. I experiemented with placing a piece of black duct tape over the little speaker grill and that cured the problem for me - the college kids didn't care one way or another.
Occasionally a dart tip will seem to be really stuck in the board with no correlation to how hard it was thrown, but have lived with that so far.
I like that it gives you 2 different options for mounting. One option has 3 screws: 2 near the top @16" apart(so both can be screwed into studs) and 1 near the bottom center. The other option uses four holes (one near each corner) that go through the front of the board into the wall.
Very few bounce outs and have not yet broken any tips. I am still just using the darts that came with the board. Will be getting some heavier ones in the near future.
I got this board for about 1/3 of the current list price. It's just what I wanted without the luxury price tag that usually goes with the nicer boards.
