We have a seven year old Pekingese and she had really bad teeth, a lot of nasty buildup and her breath smelled like... well if you're looking for a product like this, you know. Last year, our Vet said we really needed to get her teeth cleaned and it was going to cost close to $400; not an cheap expense but something we were willing to live with to keep our pooch healthy. The Vet also said that the month of February is National Dog Teeth Cleaning Month or something like that and we could wait until then and get a discount (I didn't verify if there is a National Dog Teeth Cleaning Month). I looked at various different alternatives afterwards and decided to use this product and also a product called PetzLife Oral Care Spray. We used both for about 45 days before the dogs next Vet visit. The Vet said, "I don't know what you're doing to keep her teeth clean but keep doing what you're doing". That's all it took to have us sold.

We gave her one of these treats once a day for the first 30 days and also used the spray every evening and kept her away from water for about 30 minutes. We still use the spray and she gets a treat about every other day. I don't know if she loves the spray but she tolerates it. She absolutely love the treats though. We're happy too; she can lick our face and we no longer worry about her breath smelling like... well if you're looking for a product like this, you know.

Update - Our Peke is now 10 years old and although we did stop using the spray, we have given her the treats continuously since this post...probably spent well over what it would cost to get her teeth cleaned but she love those treats. I took her for a vet check-up about two weeks ago and he said there is no need to get her teeth cleaned and he was surprised that a 10 year old peke's teeth looked like they did without ever getting her teeth cleaned by a vet.

We have three dogs now and they all love them and all their teeth are nice and clean!

My dogs had eaten several packages of these. The most recent package came and my older Yorkie, who eats any and everything refused his, my younger Yorkie ate about one-third of his when I took it away, alarmed by the other dogs reaction. About six hours later, my younger dog became violently ill, violent vomiting, was unable to control his bowels and was unable to stand. I sat up with him all night, prepared to take him to the emergency hospital if the symptoms started again. The next day I went on the Virbac website. I explained the situation and offered to send them the chews thinking that somehow they had become contaminated. I emphasized that I was not interested in compensation, just wanted to prevent other pets from becoming desperately ill. VIRBAC was NOT INTERESTED. I will never buy their products again.

C.E.T Enzymatic Oral Hygiene Chews have been given to my Schnauzer, Bo, everyday for the past two months. A recent annual checkup for Bo by our veterinarian revealed his molars are now completely free of plaque and the plaque on his canines has been materially reduced. The use of these chews has averted our having to put him to sleep to have his teeth cleaned by the vet, which would have been hard on him and hard on our pocketbook. These chews really work as advertised.

I have a 20lb pug and had bought a similar product for medium size dogs. He chewed them up in about 2 min, not very useful for cleaning his teeth. Many people had said that the dog bites off big chunks at a time. SO what i did was bought the bag for Large dogs (same price or may have been a few cents less actually) and i cut them in half. They are a bit thicker so it takes him a long time to chew them up and this way you get TWICE as many. He LOVES them and they don't upset his tummy which is great because almost anything does.

I have a 4 year old Westie who weighs about 17 pounds and is a very picky eater. She will chew these treats a couple of times a week with no complaints and I do believe it has reduced the plaque on her teeth. I combine these treats with a product called "Triple Pet Plaque Off and Fresh Breath" which is a clear liquid that you add to the water bowl. In 3 months, she has gone from the vet recommending getting her teeth professionally cleaned to saying that they look great. It has surely been worth the $20 investment to avoid a costly cleaning and anesthesia. Worth a try!

We've been buying these for our 8 lb. minpin for years and he really likes them....EXCEPT the other day we found him choking while eating a stick. I pulled out a four inch long string out of his mouth that was as tough as dental floss and even looked like dental floss that was imbedded in the chew. I'm worried that this might happen again...lucky I was around when it did. Has anyone else experienced this? Please see picture.

I have three geman shepherds and they love the chews. They have done a great job of cleaning their teeth. Just one caution, I would not leave a dog alone with a chew, they have a tendency to shallow large portions which could be a choking hazard.

CET Chews Petite for Small Dogs (30 chews)
My dog loves all sizes of these CET Chews. She is a 15 pound Bichon Frise who loves to chew to relieve stress, but only bones, rawhide, or similar chewables. I've heard mixed reviews on rawhide in general, but in the last few years rawhide chews started giving her terribly smelly gas, enough to clear the room! We have discovered, however, that the CET chews do not have that effect, and they help to relieve her stress as well as clean her teeth. We recently switched to the smaller chews because even though she manages the larger chews just fine, we decided it was better to give her smaller ones more often than a big one just occasionally, and that it's probably easier on her small digestive system. Anyway, we love these and would recommend anyone whose dog enjoys chewing to give these a try. Do keep in mind that whenever your pet is chewing something like this that they should be monitored, though we have never had a minute's trouble with these. Thanks!
