Hi,
I volunteer for a poodle rescue group and rehabilitate a lot of neglected animals. Neglected poodles suffer badly since their breed needs washing and grooming or their hair mats, can stay damp, and becomes filthy. This leads to all kinds of bacterial and yeast infections of the skin, eyes, and ears. My current foster dog has a severe case of Malassezia yeast and Pseudomonas in both ears and a generalized yeast skin infection. The smell is horrendous so I can appreciate the odor control ingredients in this product. The ingredients help break up the bio-film that Pseudomonas forms in the ear and this is absolutely necessary for any medication to work. Obviously, the dog I am fostering needs and is receiving veterinary care and Rx medications to get her condition under control. I use the Epi Otic Advanced in conjunction with these meds and will recommend that her new owners use Epi Otic Advanced once or twice a week to hopefully prevent future ear infections. Dogs with allergies and other underlying conditions which compromise the skin, make a dog prone to ear infections and regular hygiene with Epi Otic Advanced is a must.
Before using any ear washes or medications, please have a veterinarian check the ear first to make sure the ear drum is intact. Any chemical put in the ear when the ear drum is ruptured can lead to deafness.
My favorite ear products are Epi-Otic original for normal hygiene, Epi-Otic Advanced for shelter dogs, ear infections, and maintenance for dogs prone to ear infections and zymox ear medications. Use all medications liberally and for an extended period of time to make sure you wipe out the entire infection. If your dog currently has an infection or is prone to ear infections, please skip the home-made vinegar, alcohol type treatments and use the scientifically formulated stuff. Your dog deserves to live without ear pain.

I am a CVT and personally recommend this product to all of my clients. From animals that have severe otitis issues, to a routine maintenance cleaner, Epi-Otic advanced is the way to go!
Its smell isn't too over powering (smells like fruit loops in my opinion) its a self drying solution, which is exactly what you want to clear/clean out your furry friends ears! I use it after bath time on both my mutts! Works wonders!

My male German Shepherd loves to follow me behind my rider mower. He got a yeast infection in his ears from the grass clippings. After paying $300 plus to the vet to have the big baby (He would not let them touch him) put under to have his ears cleaned; I ordered this product. with a twice a month usage I haven't had another issue with that since. Close to loosing a couple fingers (Best to use a muzzle) and a few bites. But worth it! It! that didn't cost me $300. just $2 for band-aids, they were on sale.

Having a cocker spaniel means being diligent about ear cleaning! Before this product was initially recommended to me by my veterinarian, my Cocoa has to deal with ear infections. Now, we use this weekly (I apply the lotion to a cotton ball and gently tuck it in the ear opening and gently rub her ear so that the liquid gets squeezed out of the cotton and flows down into the ear). Cocoa hates the liguid being squirted into her ears, but she really does enjoy the "ear rub." In fact, if she seems to be "itching her ears," I pull out the bottle and she comes to me 'cause she knows either: ears get rubbed and/or the itch goes away. Beyond that, this smell is so much better than other cleansers that I've been "subjected to." So, Cocoa and I heartily recommend this cleanser for those that had ear infection battles to be conquered.

This is a gentle and pleasant smelling dog ear cleaner. I have used it for years and it really helped with my dog's ear infection. I remember about 10 years ago, this product was prescribed to me by a vet for my dog. My dog's ears cleared up and I did not use it for a long time, until this recent ear infection a few years ago. I still kept the empty prescription bottle from 10 years ago because I liked the product. I kept the empty bottle because I moved out of state and I wanted to remember this product in case my dog developed another ear infection. Although the product no longer requires a prescription, it is definitely the same prescription grade product as it was back then.

This product is very effective and does not sting or burn my dog's ears. It is a good product that I decided to always have on hand with my dog's bath products, so my last purchase was just for maintaining his ear cleanliness. This product will make you and your furry family member very happy!

From the time he was a puppy, my Chihuahua Jorge has always had problems with discoloration and a foul smelling build-up in his ears that drives him crazy. After various unsuccessful attempts in getting the problem under control with steroids, drops and antibiotics, I started using this cleaning solution every Saturday and Sunday, and now I have a happy and comfortable dog. I warm the solution first by immersing the bottle in hot water until it's body temperature, then slowly fill the ear canal directly from the bottle, and gently massage the ear for about 30 seconds, then use an opened cotton ball to gently wipe out the ear as far down as is possible till the ear feels dry. I see the debris come off on the cotton ball, especially on the 2nd day as the solution has broken down the accumulated wax a little more. I follow this with a treat and he has grown to enjoy the extra attention and soothing that results from it. The key is to warm the solution and be super gentle when working in the ear as well as being consistent. If I miss a week, the problem immediately flares up... Amazon also has the best price. It costs twice as much at the Vet's. Good luck!
