Zippers are obviously important since they will get heavy use over the months. I found these to be pretty heavy duty, the only complaint I have is the vertical zipper. When you undo the zipper at the bottom it is a pain to put back on to zip up, maybe this was an intentional design to help with wear and tear? *shurg*
The ducts: ports plenty of them, I just wish they added flaps like they have for everything else like the lower vents and power ports I'll probably tape over the ones I don't use.
Rods for support: Metal, sturdy
There is only one question I have about the package contents of the tent. It came with two additional velcro strips about 1 1/2 - 2 feet in length. I also noticed both sides of the tent have little velcro pieces coming off the sides. Is that to wrap around duct for support or something else?
I'll report back in the future if I remember, with updates.
Some of the stuff mystifies me still.. Like, what are you supposed to use to hold the bottom ventilation flaps up?? Is this known by all the non-newbies with grow tents? Why does the door unzip from the top instead of the bottom? Most importantly, who put the "bop" in the "bop she dop do wop"???
If you do end up putting anything heavy on the bottom, I'd recommend putting some type of mat on the floor of the tent and having some flexible yet sturdy material under the tent to keep it from settling too deep into the carpet. Of course, if it's in a room with bare floors, I think you could skip that part.
