I was worried that it wouldn't, the socks have a sheen to them that usually suggests sweaty, stinky feet.
I purchased these appx 1 month ago and wore them a total of 3 times and already have a hole in the bottom of one sock.
I'm training for a half-marathon and I've been reading about the benefits of compression socks.

Although still on the spendy side for a pair of socks, these were the best value I could find in compresion type socks. They seem well made and are comfortable to wear, whether working out in them or lounging around afterwards. They have additional padding in the foot and ankle areas. I wear a size 12 shoe and have about a 15.5 inch calf. The large size fit me well and as these are sized for your feet vs. your calf circumference. I won't go to a smaller size even if I had skinny calves as the sock padding along the foot fits perfect. They are a bit long and I need to fold them down about an inch or so to keep them from going up onto the knee, however doesn't seem to effect the comfort or wear at all. The large should work on a person up to 6,6" of so without issue.

I put them on for a run and walk on the treadmill (4.5 miles) when I first got them. Can't say I noticed a lot of performance benefits while working out, but they were comfortable and didn't slide around in the shoe even when mixing up the speeds and inclines quite a bit. Didn't effect my minor shin splints at all. Afterwards though I did feel they helped me feel better more quickly then I normally do. I also wore them overnight and found them comfortable and that my legs felt more refreshed in the morning. In fact I just ordered the white pair to go along with my original black pair.

Sizing as listed on a chart on the box, based on shoe size:

Women XS 3-6 S 6.5-8.5 M 9-11 L 11.5+
Men S 5-7.5 M 8-10 L 10.5-14

I’ve purchased (spent half a fortune) many brands of socks this year and have documented the following virtues and drawbacks of my purchases in attempt to allow you, the consumer, to have an easier time than me navigating the sea of compression sock choices. Note that some are dress socks (best for dress shoes) and others are sports socks (sneakers or any sports related shoes cleats etc.). You could certainly wear the sports socks in a business casual work environment.

A bit of background:
I wear nothing but compression socks now and forever as recommended by my doctor after getting a Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) (blood clot in leg vein) earlier this year. If you have leg circulation issues (Do your legs fall asleep when sitting on a bench for awhile?) (Are your feet/toes constantly cold?), you may want to wear compression socks too.

My father always wore “support” socks for work, (which is basically the same thing we call compression socks nowadays) to reduces leg/muscle fatigue. That’s why athletes also wear compression gear. As far as I’m aware there are no negatives to wearing compression socks so consider wearing them just for comfort. (Disclaimer: I am not a doctor so check with one if you have concerns).

On to the reviews:
Gold Toe Men's Firm Compression Support Over the Calf Dress Sock, Black, Medium ($13.50 Prime)
Quality compression sock (Top quality like all Gold Toe socks)
Excellent compression
Thin dress sock (made for a dress shoe)
True knee-high sock
Stays up nicely and doesn’t dig in at top
Perfect quality after several washes
Best quality for the price that I have found

Fytto Style 1067 Men's Comfy Travel and Dress Compression Socks, 15-20mmHg, Knee High, Large, Black ($12.

I LOVE these socks. I'm a nurse and will be on my feet for most of my 12.5+ hour shift. I had heard from many other nurses how much of a difference compression socks would make in leg fatigue, so I ordered a pair of these. I also ordered another pair from the same maker, but a different model (one of their "recovery" models). I FAR prefer THIS pair with the extra padding on the sole.

For those wondering about the sizing, I wear a women's 10.5 shoe and have a 17.5" calf and the medium fits me well, especially in the foot. I couldn't imagine going with the Large, as the size chart says I should wear. Definitely tight around the calf, but I like that.

I am a 52 year old female floor nurse on a very busy cardio pulmonary unit. I literally am on my feet 13+ hours a day without sitting. I tried 3 other brands of compression socks and this is one of my favorites. The other is the CEP Men's Running Progressive. The sizing is for a mans foot as most women's socks aren't long enough for my legs. I wear 8 1/2 - 9 in womens shoes. I am 5'8" so I usually have trouble finding socks to truly fit OVER my calf and stay. My calf is 14". The medium fits perfectly. Had them for over 4 months now. They wash well and I hang to dry. I am purchasing more today! Worth the investment to save my legs!

Got a pair of these socks for my Wife, she is on her feet throughout the day.

The big push on these socks is Patented Graduated Compression, they have a chart for this but it just means they feel great on!

Positives:
*Silverstat built in so you get the benefits of silver and "no smell"
*Compression works, keeps the blood going back to your heart
*a difference you will notice the first time you wear them. (much better than cheap compression socks)

Negatives:
*you have to hang them to dry (it will ruin the silver after several dryer uses)
*hard to put on (until you get the hang of it.)
*Not used to long socks

Bottom Line: Once they are on you don't want to take them off and they never smell!

WORTH IT....

UPDATE: I have also bought some over the calf Compression socks, they have really helped my feet with improved circulation.
