Not the same as the original tamper!!! Not returnable!!!

I own a 64 oz Vitamin blender container. Even though I saw that the most recent review stated this was not the same as the original Vitamin tamper, the reviews prior to it stated that it was a perfect replacement, so I decided to buy this anyways.

I regret that decision.

The description is wrong when it says that it fits the 64 oz container - it's a good full inch shorter than the regular tamper I received with my Vitamin purchase. Also, the dimensions are incorrect - it's only 11 1/2 inches long (not 12 as the description at the very bottom says). My original tamper is 12 1/2" long.

To make it worse, this is "not returnable". Thankfully I called Amazon and they refunded me my money since the description and dimensions are incorrectly listed.

Very frustrating, and will never buy anything from "VitamixDirect" again.

Second time using it and the handle broke. From the moment I first laid hands on it I knew something wasn't right, it was weak and too light. Rather than pass wrongful judgment I let this piece into my home, specifically my kitchen. I trusted it but too soon it broke that trust; I mean it literally broke. I am sad at the loss of the money I spent but more so saddened by the trust that was broken today, broken into two pieces.

I've had this a couple months now. It does the job pushing the contents of my smoothie down the blender. I compared it to my original Vitamix tamper and it is a wee bit shorter in length. Checked the Vitamix site and the original tanker was 12.75 inches. This tamper is 12 inches. Little difference, but I thought others should know.

I wrote the above review in July 2017 and wanted to say that three years later I still have this tamper and it's working fine. So I gotta give it credit for durability!

It was pretty cheap when I bought it so I kept it despite the length loss. It cost $6.89 when I ordered it, and as I write this review the price is almost double that! So shop around and watch the price. Comment if you have any questions, I'm happy to help :)

This tamper broke 1 1/2 months after purchase....just as many of the other pictures other buyers have posted. Other than that it fit our vitamin really well. I don't think this is a genuine vitamin product or I am certain it would have lasted many years like my first one. I would have given more stars if there was any way to glue or repair it myself, but after reading the other reviews, it sounds like using glue to put it back together has not worked in many cases.

Actually better than the original one that came with my Vitamix from Costco bc the tip end on this is completely smooth and my old one had a "teat" on the end from where the plastic mold finishes off (my guess as to why it was there). Just remember everyone, the lid must be on to use the tamper......maybe it should be stamped in bright yellow on the tamper handle, lol.

So I learned that you shouldn't use your Vitamix if you've not had your morning coffee. I was making a shake one morning and stuck my tamper tool down into the Vitamin WITHOUT the lid on. Needless to say, I woke up pretty quickly when I heard the GRRNG, GRRNG sound coming from my blender. To the credit of the Vitamix, it just kept on blending. That sucker is strong. I now have the new tamper tool and have learned not to use it with the lid OFF! : )

Exact replica of my original Vitamix tamper

I accidentally broke my Vitamix tamper and was really upset at the cost it would be to replace. I saw this on Amazon and decided to give it a try. Now that I have it in home, I can review it and answer a few questions that I had before I made my initial purchase. While this product isn't a Vitamix product, it's an off-brand, it is an exact replica of the Vitamix tamper. The plastic isn't a heavy-duty as Vitamix as well as isn't as heavy as the Vitamix. Laying both products side by side, they are an exact replica! They are the same length, diameter, etc. The only way to tell the difference, without feeling, is by reading the top where it says "Vitamix". Does that mean it isn't a good product? Well for the price, I'm glad I got because I'm sure I'll break this tamper in the near future and I didn't spend a fortune replacing my original Vitamix tamper! I am actually going to be placing another order so I have a back-up on hand should it break again I can continue to keep using my Vitamix without waiting for the replacement to come to my house.
