Completely changed my life because of my chronic illness (keep reading to learn more)!
This product has changed my life. I have recently been diagnosed with Lyme disease and alpha gal syndrome (caused by the Lyme); due to these things, I am quite literally allergic to animal products AND gluten... Initially this felt not only overwhelming, but unfair and horrible and on and on and on. I've always loved bread, custards, cheesy sauces, BLTs, burgers at the pool; omg I just was beside myself. Once I calmed down a bit, I got inspired (especially thanks to my amazing, loving, chef of a husband and his nearly 15 years of trying to teach me his skills - turns out near-death was the motivation I need hahahaha anyway let's continue...). I started to really research what being vegan and gluten free meant. Long story short, the answer is one word: SAUCES. Sauces that require high speed blending, because every "cream" sauce and pudding and "cheese" cake I make is always cashew based. So, not only has having the Vitamix allowed me to explore this new diet, but I am now LOVING IT. It turned what felt like a death sentence into vibrancy. For the first time in our marriage, my husband gets to be the one to come home to delicious, home-cooked food. This not only means a lot to him and me for very obvious reasons, but also because I'm still going through treatment and can't work right now. Besides cleaning, cooking has become a beloved activity of mine that I can still do to help out and show love. So, that's my long winded and sappy way of saying thank you to whoever refurbishes these products and makes them affordable for people who couldn't otherwise get them. I've attached pictures of some of the food I've made that in some way was made possible with the Vitamix. Sorry for the quality of some of the shots, taking nice pics of the food I'm proud of is a recent thing I'm doing.
