Vittoria makes a great product in the Randonneur Hyper 700x32c. If they fit between your frame's fork legs and chainstays, try a pair inflated to 60psi and enjoy the smooth ride. Quality is excellent: the tread is even and true, the casing has much finer, more even threads than those uberpopular lumpy Gatorskins. The tread is plenty tough; the stipples haven't worn off in 1000 miles and glass cuts haven't been a problem. Who knows how long they'll last, but in my recreational riding, easily 3000 miles. It's hard to imagine that competitive tires costing 30% more are enough better to justify spending more.

I run these tires on a sub-20 pound road bike, and as much as I have loved roadracing performance in forty years on the bike, I believe now that if you ride for fitness at speeds under 22 mph, i.e. don't race, you should be riding on 32mm wide tires. They're fast, comfortable, and safe. The width, profile and ability to tolerate lower inflation pressure provide comfort without increased rolling resistance at the speeds most of us ride. A huge benefit is that you'll flat far less: I have had **none in 1000 miles, which has never happened even on the toughest (and harshest) 700x25 tires like Maxxis ReFuse. The increased safety happens because if I have to, I can ride on the dirty part of the shoulder to stay away from traffic without worrying about flats.

When I think that I could have avoided flats every 250-500 miles and spared my body and bike so much wear and tear, I wish I had switched to Randonneur Hypers 20 years ago (OK, tires this good didn't exist then, but something close). In fact, if they don't fit your current road bike, I'd get a new bike. Seriously, folks, they make that much difference. Enjoy your bike.

The Vittoria Randonneur Hypers have a ridiculous name, but they are a nice upgrade over the Vittoria Randonneur Pros. Compared to the VR Pros, the VR Hypers have a supple casing, are easier to mount, and are much lighter. Hopefully the later doesn't come at the expense of puncture resistance, but that will take many miles to figure out. My rear VR Pro lasted over 4,000 miles with 3 flats in the first thousand, and a final flat once I'd worn through the tread and most of the flat protection layer. My front VR Pro was at 5,000 miles with no flats, even though it looked like it was a regular at bar fights. If the VR Hypers last as long, I'll be quite satisfied.

I put these on my Scott Aspect 29 Tour so that I could try my hand at keeping up with some of my roadie friends .... (its impossible to expect a 30+lb bike to keep up with a 19lb bike) ... and they have helped get me close.

Going from 2.25" knobbies to this tire set was a big deal. I went from an average pace of 13-14mph to 16-18mph just by swapping the tires. Pretty ridiculous (and Im a large man at 6'1", 245lbs).

These are half the width as my original Schwalbe Rapid Robs, and they take nearly twice the PSI (Im running mine at 85psi). This makes the ride much more stiff and rigid (which i despise) ... but the reward is me going faster than I could have dreamed on this particular bike.

They were easy to install; mind you, we left them in the sun for 30 min before we even attempted to throw them on the rims ... makes the tires much easier to work with.

Design is sweet ... reflective sidewall is no joke (lights up like a Christmas tree) ... so far I am very please with these tires.

Havent really put a ton of miles on them ... but I have gone over a few broken glass piles and they held up fine with no signs of wear whatsoever.

The ONLY flaw of these tires (really isnt a flaw, but more of a product of what they are) is that because of the "slick" nature of the tire ... the water-shedding grooves will wear down quickly. A few hundred miles and you'll likely have true slicks on your bike. I dont mind that .. but just wanted to put it out there that the tread is minimal out of the box.

I purchased the 700x38c tires. Due to the unusually warm weather around my home I decided to go on a little round trip of 16 miles. The tire has very little resistance but was kind of loud. Other than that, an incredible tire.

Have had these on my touring bike for over a year now and have logged 4200 miles according to Strava in that time. So far no flats, not one. The best thing about the tires is the ride though, the ride is indescribebly smooth, a real pleasure. In fact it is so supple that I am not bothered at all by very rough pavement or unpaved trails.

Did a 600 mile fully loaded tour of Michigan this summer on the White Pine trail which is about half paved and half abandoned railroad bed. These tires were perfect on both the paved and unpaved sections, I even got out on some single track and was amazed by the fact that there is so much grip on a nearly slick tire.

The last benefit is that they roll very fast, hardly notice the difference in speed between these and 25mm tires from a rolling resistance perspective.
