Technical Details

Product Description

The Vivitar 1.4x Auto Focus Tele Converter for Nikon is an easy way to noticeably extend the reach (focal length) of compatible lenses. The 1.4x Tele Converter can be mounted between select lenses and the camera body to increase the focal length by the power of 1.4x. The new multi layer coating reduces flare and ghost, which is a common problem with digital cameras. They also offer maximum photography magnification by 1.4 x, without any variation in the minimum focusing distance. Compact and lightweight, these teleconverters convert your lenses into longer focal-length lenses, so you don't have to do a lot of unnecessary footwork.

Don't buy this item!!! First of all when the item first came to me I assumed it was broken because it had a rattle as if something was wrong with it. It also had the image in the viewfinder jumping up and down when focusing. That was with the standard Nikon 18-55 mm lens. I returned it and had an ordeal getting it replaced. When it finally came in the same thing happened. I finally realized that it was the VR (Vibration Reduction) that makes it jump. You have to turn that off for steady view. Then I found out that it doesn't even recognize the 55-200 mm lens I initially bought it for. Mind you that I initially emailed supplier to find out if it was compatible with my Nikon D5100 camera. I was assured it was. It maybe compatible with the camera, but it would have been nice if it worked right with the lenses on!! Piece of junk as far as I'm concerned. This is coming from a person who has had a history of using teleconverters in the past for other cameras.
