Great laptop for the price

The key to being happy with this laptop is to understand what you are buying. ASUS makes some high-end gaming laptops like the ROG that sell for over $2000. That is like buying a Telsa in the car world. If that is what you are looking for then by all means spend the money and enjoy it. But if you just need basic functions like web browsing, email and writing documents and you don't want spend much money then this is a great deal. It's kind of like buying a Ford Fiesta for your commute car because you just need something to get you to work and back. In my case, I needed an inexpensive laptop for my son and this is perfect. I have spend the day testing it out and am very impressed. I'm honestly stunned that you get this much for around $250. Right now we are all listening to Christmas music on Pandora in the living room. Earlier I was showing him Skype video messaging on the web cam which worked great. Window 10 boots up very quickly and the screen backgrounds are beautiful The laptop looks sleek and professional. The trackpad actually works better then my more expensive Thinkpad laptop. With 500GB hard drive he is never going to run out of space. In our case the WiFi works great so maybe we are just lucky there. So I think people who purchase this laptop for the right reasons will be happy. Just remember this is not a Tesla but then again you are paying about a tenth of the cost and from that perspective this is a great purchase.

Been using this model for several months and think it's a pretty good laptop. They come with an outdated version of Windows 10, so before I even boot the hard drive I format and install the latest build. After that they will run much better, drivers will automatically update from MS and seem to run fine. Only negatives are the battery can't be pulled and it does feel a bit breakable, but no issues thus far.

** Updated 1/7/2018; Had to send one back to Asus for warranty repair. They had received it on 12/13/2017 and still do not have an estimated date to completion. This was for a battery charging issues, which should have been only days to repair even if it were the motherboard. We have called on numerous occasions but all they tell us is it's being worked on now. Will never purchase another Asus product after this!

Great computer for the price. A lot of unnecessary programs that pop up incessantly that I had to remove. Not as durable as my much more expensive Dell but that is to be expected. Cursor jumps around easily with the slightest contact with the pad. Not a super amazing computer but for the price it is great!
