I loved this sequel to Druid's Pawprint! Both are great reads
***I decided to review an ARC of this book.***
I was given an ARC (hence the tag) but I had already purchased a copy and had planned to read it. :)
Author: Laura Greenwood
4 unexpected stars
I always believed that when Laura Greenwood writes her stories, she takes her time to set her stories in a way that you won't realize that you're enthralled and in so deep, living the story with the characters until it's too late. I had thought that the first installment of this series, The Dryad's Pawprint, was great, but The Vixen's Bark is even better, telling the story of Arabella, a shifter who is determined to make a difference and to do so, she must get on the Shifter Council, and Bjorn, who is already on the Council and willing to support her any way that he can, even giving up his own seat to her. The only problem is that the Council doesn't accept mates to sit on it, and as Arabella and Bjorn spend more time together, the connection and the pull they feel towards one another is threatening their precarious positions.
4 breath taking dreams
Having believed that Kem and Lia's bond was incredibly strong in Dryad's Pawprint, it pales in comparison to what Arabella and Bjorn are willing to do for one another. Their story held so much hope for change and the kind of love that makes you sigh in happiness. I loved watching this story unfold right before my eyes and can't wait to see what else this series has in store for us.

Reviewed by Kathleen, The Small Girl from A small girl, her man and her books
First, there is going to be the stigma of interspecies relationships. Some "people" will always find a way to make things difficult for these couples. Sometimes, these problems even come from one of the couples' own family members. Prejudice can happen anywhere.
Secondly, there are always rules to be followed in the work place. In novels and the created worlds there, this is not a big surprise. Especially if one or both people in the couple in question work for the law department. After all, they need to remain objective. Can two people whose thoughts are consumed with one another even think rationally about the law and welfare of someone else?
Thirdly, can the two-different species truly be "true" mates? Can a fox really love another shifter than a fox? Will a bear be enough to hold a fox's attention for years to come? What about children?
Greenwood spend a large amount of her time developing her characters. She wants them to be understood with quirks, tempers, flaws, insecurities, strengths, and weaknesses. She wants them to be as human as possible so that her readers can identify with them on an emotional level. This is a feat that Greenwood does in fact achieve. Her characters Arabella and Bjorn drag the reader into the story kicking and screaming for them to overcome whatever twisted challenge Greenwood throws their way.
I received an ARC of this novel, but I voluntarily chose to write a review. The opinions and thoughts expressed are mine and are not influenced by anyone or anything other than my reaction to the story that I have read.
