Would you like to be alerted when ... Cars are coming up the driveway • Children go inside your tool shed • Intruders approach the front or backyard • Someone enters your garage • Visitors are walking to the front door • Your parked boat or motor home has been boarded • Kids or pets are trampling your flowers ...then you need the Voice Alert System-6. System-6 allows a maximum of six user recorded messages. Each message is specific to one zone. For instance, zone one could be for a driveway alarm -“Car coming up the driveway” while zone two could be for a sensor monitoring the back yard- “Alert! Child by the pool!” Perhaps a third sensor guards a side entrance against intruders. However, when this PIR detects movement, the base unit plays “Intruder on patio” and triggers a floodlight using one of four relays included on the base unit. System-6 can monitor all three zones simultaneously and still have three additional zones available when needed. Users can alter their messages and place the wireless sensors wherever they wish. Voice Alert System-6 sets up in minutes and can be completely customized to fit their individual needs. The wireless PIRs feature: all weather protection, adjustable mounting and sensitivity, and can send a signal 300 feet through walls and up to 1000 feet in open space.

I purchased this unit, as well as an additional sensor, for use. Everything, more or less, went fine until we needed to use the "Program" position on the 3-way switch on the front of the receiver. That caused issues because how to associate a certain channel with a certain transmitter was not well-explained. My security professional had previously installed a few of these, albeit infrequently. After an additional 15 minutes we finally solved the issue, but this whole portion of the setup could have been totally avoided with better documentation. Both of us tried and failed understanding the instructions as written. YMMV.
As for the unit itself, once installed it is fine. Last night was excessively windy and we were getting false alarms that will be dealt with, but this was not a fault of the system but rather something in the guarded environment that needs to be resolved by me.
In conclusion I would repeat this purchase, but be hoping for better instructions from the manufacturer.
I went with Voice Alert 6 because it is 1) wireless, which makes installation easy; 2) it will tell you exactly which sensor went off, which tells you where the threat is; and 3) the sensors work indoors or out. First off, the detectors reliably go off when tripped and the wireless unit is responsive even through the walls of your house (we have brick and no problems at 200+ feet between the sensors and the base unit, although I believe the range between the sensor and base can be up to 1000 feet). The system allows you to record a separate message for each sensor (or a single message for multiple sensors) so you can tell, for example, if the sensor at your front door went off. It also has outputs on the back of the unit if you want to trigger other devices when a sensor goes off (like lights or a siren, etc.). The sensors are easy to work with because they have a bright red LED that you can see light up when they are tripped, which makes for easy sensor set-up (you can turn the light off after you're done w/ set up) so you can get a feel for the range of detection. You can also use the device for things other than home protection, like monitoring children for pool safety.
Initially I didn't think the system was going to meet my needs because it was going off and waking us up whenever a neighborhood cat would come through the bushes. I tried mounting the sensors higher, as suggested, and had no success. But, included with the system are "masks" that limit the area of detection so that it won't, for example, detect anything under 3' tall. I put in the masks and experimented with sensor placement and now we have no trouble with falses, even if my dog (a new German Shepard puppy - helps w/ home security immensely!) is running in the yard. Incidentally, this method of installation is called "creating a pet alley" and there are articles on the web with tips on how to do it. So, bottom line is that the system works as advertised and is easy and effective for perimeter defense. A couple of other tips for home defense: make it very hard to get in your house, put a "Strikemaster" on the doors so someone can't kick them in and put Lumar on the windows so they can't be broken (the thieves broke our dining room window in, but 75% of the time they just kick in the front door). We got both of these products and they are very effective.
I have had this product for over a year. Make sure to read the directions when you change the batteries because you have to re-sink it every timer. I built a cover for my detector and then screwed that to the tree. The range on the motion detector is at least 30 feet out by 20 feet wide. I placed it 6.5 feet up the tree. The receiver is programable with your voice. I have a receiver at the driveway and recorded my voice message saying someone is comming down the driveway. I also placed one at our gate and programed that one to say someone is entering the gate. You can record about 6 seconds which is plenty. Love that feature.
I used the product in my garden for about 2 months because I had a deer problem. I ran a wire and placed the receiver in a bucket to keep it dry and it amplified the sound, then I placed a monitor on either side of the garden (90ft by 70 ft garden) I changed the recordings to Get out of here deer... get out of my garden. LOL I did not lose any more of my beans for the rest of the growing season. I always knew when a deer or anything was in the garden. Worked like a charm and I am probably going to buy a seperate unit for just this purpose.
Con: While the unit was in the garden ants got into one of the monitors and ruined it. They entered through a small whole in the bottom of the monitor. This is an outside product so it should probably be sealed so ants can not get into it. I plugged up the hole in the other monitor so they could not get in. No problems.
