I loved the data. I bet I'm not the only one that reaches for a club based on how far I can it instead of how far I usually hit. Those are definitely two different numbers for me. I hope that seeing the stats will help me make better decisions.
The doubts I felt are kind of obvious. Is this thing accurate? Reviewers online seem to think it's within 3.5%. That's close enough for me, but the numbers I saw varied a lot. More troubling was that my swing speed varied a lot on what felt like similar swings. It seemed like the SC200+ just missed it sometimes and showed a really low number. I loved the cool factor, but if numbers suck, I can't use it to improve my swing.
Now that I've used it a little more and fiddled with my swing, I'm starting to see more consistent (and better) results. I'm starting to be able to feel the difference between between a 70 and 80 mph swing with an 8 iron. I'm hitting off of a gorilla matt. The SC200 seems to measure swing speed through impact. Hitting it fat has a big impact on swing speed. I can see the difference grip pressure, the stretch of those upper back muscles, and pivot vs. sway makes on results. Love it. Absolutely love it.
Had tried out some of the others but I either have to have an app and view the numbers on my phone and another one have to put 10 feet behind me on the aisle of the range and with my phone? Neither seemed practical.
Also the Swing Caddie is the only Launch Monitor you can use indoors which was my purpose.
My head pro has tried all and because of these issues recommend the Swing Caddie— and my was I surprised!
First the screen— built to be outdoor visible. I could see the numbers simply by looking back after each shot. No need to squint or look on my phone. This is the way a launch monitor should be.
What I liked about the SC200PLUS is the swing speed mode. I can practice and increase / see my range of swing speed in this new mode rather than get a separate swing speed radar device.
Allows me to see all my swing metrics both at home and at the range, and I can practice all kinds of swing speed based techniques with the swing speed mode.
Best of all- it is dead on!
Super happy and going to really give me real time analysis and add a new dimension to my practice at the range and at home.
In the long days of social isolation, it has been a welcome relief to go into my back yard and hit balls into a net and it tell me how I am doing. Not as good as a driving range, but really close. Besides, the driving ranges are not available anyway.
In my view, money well spent!
1. Accuracy seems to be ok. If hitting a slightly fat or off the toe or heel shot the unit will identify a shorter carry.
2. Unit sometimes during a session will randomly re-start (Practice Mode) after hitting a shot. Very annoying.
3. Batteries lasted for 5 one hour sessions (requires 4 AAA batteries).
Will return unit because of item 2 problem.
