The Voice: Words from God is an honest and open invitation to witness God's transforming power in the testimony of Gabe Liliedahl. If there was ever any doubt that God is a changer of lives, Liliedahl reminds us that He is in charge every step of the way, wanting to draw us closer to Christ at all times. Throughout, Liliedahl describes important milestones in his life, beginning as a teenager with candid descriptions of his struggle with alcoholism. After his time in prison, Liliedahl gradually strengthens his relationship with God through a range of personal and ministerial experiences, including at a since-closed ministry center named Castaways. Throughout the testimony, Liliedahl employs the use of individual verses to describe God's character and work in his life, and how God has used 'The Voice' to speak. Particularly, Liliedahl outlines God's main method of speaking to him - through dreams.
At times the reader can become a little lost with the chronology of Gabe Liliedahl's life, and it would have been helpful to have more dates and indications of age along the way, but this does not reduce the quality or care with which Liliedahl has described God's work in his life. The use of scripture is sound and helpful and will be sure to enrich believers who read the book - new or seasoned. Most importantly, The Voice: Words from God is saturated with honesty and a love for God, and Liliedahl is sure to point toward His glory at the turn of every page. Years ago, I heard someone I respect say on TV, "There are authors and there are people who write books." He went on to say that he was one who wrote books. I've known for years that i was going to write this book, but couldn't get over the fear of doing it. I'm not an author, but believed I was supposed to write at least one. Looking back, I could have and should have released this book sooner. It's not hard to self-publish a book. Whether or not it's successful is another story. Ultimately, it doesn't matter. While I hope the book succeeds. I know that God led me to write it for a purpose and that's all that matters. Contained within these pages is one person's struggle with the past and with making peace with God. Contained within these pages is the realization that destiny still awaits, even in this lifetime. God doesn't throw people away. I'm not saved just to be put in a corner until I die and go to heaven. Just like anyone else, I have a story to tell and God can use it. The book contains all kinds of twists and turns and surprises. I wrote it, but God set the stories in place for me to find. This book wil challenge you to expect more from God and from yourself. May His blessings overtake you as you listen and obey (Deut 28:2).
About the Author
Gabe Liliedahl is a child of God who is called to help others hear from God for themselves. God has used Gabe as a preacher, teacher, in prison ministry, and as an author. God spoke to Gabe at a young age, but Gabe chose to walk away from God for several years. God remained faithful and waited for him to hit rock bottom. After a time in prison, God began to reveal himself to Gabe and reminded him of the childhood conversations. This changed his life. Since then, Gabe has devoted his life to God, learning and following the voice of God wherever He may lead. Gabe teaches others how to hear from the Spirit of God using the word of God and personal testimony. "The Voice: Words from God" is the first book of a series. Gabe is currently working on the second book entitled, "The Voice: A Study of How God Speaks".
