This story introduces Brandon Wayne. He is a marketing person for Endeara Candies and in his spare time-which becomes almost fulltime-tracks down vinyl records. But his life becomes troubled when he thinks he is hearing voices? Is he going crazy. Does it have anything to do with the terrible accident where he lost his love? His co-worked is very concerned about him and gets caught up in the voices.
There are well thought out twists that causes the leader to wonder how Brandon can figure this all out. Since I am anti-spoilers, I highly recommend you read this story and become immersed in the "voices".
Voices Carry is another book that will have your heart in a tangled mess. Brandon finds he has started a journey into the unknown without his knowledge. It all starts with a commercial and a set of beautiful eyes. Memories and voices in his head will lead him to unravel the mysteries from his past, lay down the emotions that have paralyzed him and maybe find a way to love again but only if he can keep his sanity in the process. Finally after being pushed to the edge, he agrees to some unusual methods to find the answers as to why he is being haunted by years gone by, and prevented from moving forward.
When a woman who is on a path of her own comes into his view, he will have to find a way to prove the truth in his heart while trying to convince himself that his sanity is safe. Along with that, he will have to accept the answers that will be uncovered. I absolutely loved this story and while my review might sound confusing, it is impossible to give you more without spoiling the magic waiting for you in this story. Diane doesn’t give you a group of characters, she brings to you a family, some connected by blood but all connected by love and loyalty.
You have the base for a helluva good story. Now that we've got the base, let me take you to a little bar called Mulligan's, that is home to the most incredible group of friends...a little place much like 'Cheers'. These friends each have a story to tell, in several of Rinella's other books, but in Voices Carry, Brandon Wayne happens to be the main character - and swoon worthy at that.
Brandon is a sexy guy who is down on his luck (or so he thinks). Actually, he's convinced that he's crazy- literally because of voices he's been hearing in his head. He goes to some pretty outlandish extremes and through this process, we find out crazy is as far from the truth as you can imagine. This is where those ingredients above, Fate and Destiny come into play.
Diane Rinella has this way of writing a beautiful love story that will have you swooning and tingly and ya know what? The characters still have their clothes on and haven't even had sex. Go figure!
I have to say, this is one of her most 'angsty' books. I found myself pounding my steering wheel more times than not (I use text to speech on my Kindle). Just when I thought Brandon was finding his happiness, the story proved me wrong. 'Not just yet', Rinella seems to be saying.. (HA! Could this be a voice in my head?)
Suffice it to say, this story is beautiful. Brandon Wayne is my new book boyfriend and judging by the ending, I have a feeling there may be a next book about Brandon's friend Dale...
This is the first book I read from Diane and I sure want to read more from her because this book really shows talent. The way you get to know the characters and how she build them is also very nice. You can picture them and you get to bond with them too in a perfect way.
I can recommend the story to others because I did really enjoyed the book.
