I work in professional kitchens and I am on the line all day, everyday. Vollrath spats are my go-to and I don't see that changing anytime soon. the grooves are perfect for your fingers so that it remains balanced and easiest to guide. this makes for no slipping and no confusion unlike other spats with rounded grips. I find that youre made to fight spats with rounded grips, readjusting for comfort and utilization. this requires time and effort which many cooks don't have much of to spare on the line. your hands could be slippery from whatever substance. the spat could be slippery from prior use. it could be wet from sanitizer water. you could be wearing gloves for whatever reason. the last thing you want is to have to waste time getting a proper hold on your spat. I am very passionate about this. the 10 inch vollrath was made to be held and was made for serious cookery. not only that but it was made for cooking on the line. it's smaller than the usual commercial 13 inch but wicking away the last beautiful bits of whatever youre making is just as easy with this smaller head, especially if you have fast hands like I do. five out of five stars would buy again probably will.

These are the only spatulas you should ever buy. I worked, for at time, at a relatively fancy restaurant, and Vollrath were the only spatulas you'd see anywhere in that kitchen. They are durable, withstand high heat, easy to clean, and surprisingly affordable. Ours have lasted a very long time and serve us very well. We'll be buying these until either Vollrath, or we, are no longer around.

This is a great spatula. I've had other plastic "high temp" spatulas but over time they start to shed plastic. Not so with this silicon spatula. I use it mostly when I'm making scrambled eggs. It's soft enough so I can move it around the sides of my pan yet firm enough to cook with. I've also used it when I'm making a cheese cake to scrape down the sides of the food processor. So far I'm very pleased with this item. When the time comes I would definitely buy it again
